Hopefully Roland has been listening and will respond. Oh, I almost forgot, it's going to be interesting to see what happens with the MV-8000 as well. If they did some typical technological updating to it to bring it in to 2007, as well as released a new workstation, I could be convinced to go "all hardware".

I see no new Workstation on rolandus.com....

I see a Arranger keyboard.

What are you referring to?

Edit: Oh, OK...I had to refresh it several times to get to it.

People are saying its the new MV-8800. Doesn't look like a Fantom to me.

Yeah...It does say "it won't be in Black and White" So maybe keyboard is out. bummer, but I would be depressed in someways. I do not want to feel my board is obsolete quite yet. I love my X7. It has done everything I have asked of it soundwise at this time.

Quinnx,
Some people here have music as an hobby (including me). Some earn enough money here to spend on whatever pleases them the most. There's nothing wrong with that. No one's raping a girl or murdering their neighbors. They got money. They like something. They buy it and enjoy it. Thats the way i see it.

Yeah, sure no one needs a color screen either, but people buy them. Its because you CAN, not that you HAVE to.

It wont be in black and white. Hmm... Maybe its a keyboard with colored keys? Keys in rainbow colors. Thats exactly what we need. Colorful keys.

I bet this is another dumb ad from Roland trying to market a sh*t sandwich as the next revolution in dieting. Anyone remember the RED cube countdown?

The only thing I see evidence of is an MV8800 or whatever the successor to the MV8000 will be called....

In thinking about this, why couldn't a flagship workstation not have a keyboard? I've got quite a few keyboards lying around. A workstation has:

1) Rom waves
2) User sampling
3) Sequencing
4) Audio recording

If the "new" MV-8000 has all those, then it's a workstation in my book. Bring it on!

Oh, BTW it's the MV-8800 I guess. That's cool. So it's for real since Roland wouldn't have named the flash movie after a product model number that didn't exist (probably).

BTW, BTW has anyone poked around Roland Japan? Sometimes you can uncover new products there that have yet to be announced elsewhere. But most likely everything's coordinated to drop on 1/18/07. I'm going to head over there now, though.

piaknoguy, with that kind of fantom, you could ended up playing more pads than keys

anyway that's a very smooth editing

@ piaknowguy:That's a lot of PADS!!! LOL

You know, I was wondering why the latest catalog from musician's friend didn't have the MV-8000 listed. I thought it was a mistake. Looks like they knew what was coming all along... Also on Sweetwater.com, the only MV8k available is the demo model. Well, I'm glad I waited because it would've been pointless to buy the 4yr old model with a new one right around the corner..

I personally like concept of MV-8xxx as it's not imposing any keybed choice. It's interesting how the MV-8800 will improved and how it will relate to future Fantoms?
