V-Synth & Wavestation SR

Post by b3keys »

Please Help! I want to use my V-Synth as a Midi Controller for a Korg Wavestation SR. I would like to use the X-Y Pad to replicate the joystick found on the Wavestation Keyboard.

The Korg manual says that the X & Y movements correspond to CC 16 and 17 respectively. However, the V-Synth X-Y are set at CC 80 and 81.

Is there anyway to edit this? Or, is there an easier way to approximate the vector movement using the timetrip pad or control knob 1/2. Please help!

Thanks and Happy New Year!

1. press the MODE button
2. select SYSTEM
3. Press the CONTROLLER Tab
4. select the TT PAD on the left side of the screen.

Then you can change the ccs for the time trip pad.

Save the system and your done.

b3keys,

Thanks for asking this question. Like you, I have a Wavestation SR, but never thought to try controlling it using the V-Synth's X-Y pad. Excellent idea!

And thanks for the answer, Jim!

Yes, using the TT Pad for other Hardware is a very good Idea, since I read the question I am thinking about using the Roland D2 Groovebox to do the same.... I am sure the D2 Box can send Midi comands, too...! Just a hint for people who own no V-Synth! ;)

One thing I use the TT pad for is controling 5.1 surround in logic.
It's very handy. :-)

The V-Synth has so much potential as a full master controller.

How difficult would it be to implement a proper Performance/Multitimbral mode in an OS update?
