I had a pair of AKG phones that were pretty good, untill they got stolen. If you have a GUITARCENTER close check outthe BEYER ones. I can't remember the model#, but they were supposed to enable you to mix with them which is not recommended for most headphones...they were spendy$$ I think 3 bones or so

I agree with stanley, I have a pair of sennheisers that I got on sale from musician's friend for 100 and they are AMAZING....and I saw puffy using them on a TV show as well on BET so I'm super sold on them.

Huge bass and crispy crispy highs.....and they're good for recording vocals because they're insulated pretty well.

I have a pair of AKG K240s that have served me quite well. The AKG K271 that Art mentioned should be even better.

I know this late, but my 2 cents...

I use Sennheiser HD25SP. They give brilliant clarity and they are also light weight so you can wear them for long periods. I've seen lank dudes in the sound and related sound industry use this one, so it comes highly recommended.

I have "Sennheser HD280 pro" headphones.

They sound pretty good, I guess ... I agree with whoever that said, "You get what you pay for."

They seem a little digital or something ... can't quite put my finger on it ....

... but I don't really use headphones -- especially the closed-ear kind like the HD280s -- I had an old pair of like 10-year-old Sony's that I liked alot until the exposed wire got yanked out ...

I may even go back to Sony, but like I wrote, I don't really wear headphones ... the acoustical response when playing is ALL WRONG ... plus it's not really good for your hearing (that's how I got tinnitus) ...

If it's a time a day that I can't do thumpy stuff ... I just play piano ...

but almost never wearing headphones.

hi...
if you are in a very tight budget, I would recommend the AKG K-44 headphones...I got mines for $20...
the bass response is just quite unbelievable for cheap headphones....the sound is also loud...
my only gripe about this headphone is the cheap plastic material used for the earpiece and the headband...
the ear cuffs feels fairly comfortable, but after 20-30 minutes, your ears will start sweating!!! lol
