I checked it with my gear, and it opens the chorus box without problems. I also have the latest version of the V-producer installed. However, I am using WIN98 because it runs faster on my tablet PC, which I use for music applications.

To raimondsgr:

How stable is the latest version when loading larger sample sizes? Ive found that over a certain size on the latest version the software can freeze....

The the good thing about the latest version is the Appegiator :)

Hello, LoS!

Yes, it is also my experience that the software freezes when loading larger samples. I am not informed about the previous versions of the V-producer for VariOS, but I read somewhere on the Internet that the old VP9000 sampler used to have the same problem.

It seems that we have quite a few bugs on this instrument. But at least we have arpeggiator that works :)

By the way, do you have any new thoughts concerning the clicking/noise issue? I have not posted the examples on the net, but can do so, if it seems necessary. I doubt, however, that Roland will ever turn attention to these issues even if that is indeed the manufacturer’s fault. They seem so busy developing new products that the old ones quickly become abandoned.

i dont tend to use the varios for changing melody or playing so when i have come across the problem i always thought it was my mistake and did things a different way...

Hi!

Just wanted to add some info about loading larger samples. I discovered that one can load larger samples if they are manually encoded as SOLO before loading them into VariOS. I have been successful in loading vocal lines with size up to 18Mb. In comparison, I could not load even a 5Mb file as BACKING or ENSEMBLE. Does anybody know if there are certain limits of size and length for different types of encoding?

I might be mistaken, but it also seems that a faster computer allows loading samples with bigger size.

thats a good work around because you can always re-encode them once it's uploaded...

Well, according to my experience you cannot re-encode them later, because then the software freezes again... (unfortunately...)

Apparently there is something with BACKING and ENSEMBLE encoding, which creates these kind of problems.

interesting - Okay I might try installing an older version of V-Producer onto the machine in like a different folder (so I can have two versions on the machine at one time) to use for encoding larger files, then once the encoding works switch back to V-Producer 3...
