Seeking JD-800 Opinions

Post by EricM »

I am a big fan of that late 80s early 90s Digital sound (D-50, M1, etc.)
I love my M1 to death. However I am looking for something that gives me much more flexible editing capabilities, and I just love having all the tactile controls set out in front of me.

So I was looking at finding a used JD-800. What are some experiences people have had with it? I am a big fan of the D-50 and D-70, so how would you say it compares soundwise? Does it still have that that D-50ish warm digital sound?

Yeah Warm Digital Sound should be an oxymoron, lol.

Unfortunately won't be down there anytime soon. How much were they asking for it?

I only remember that it was reasonably priced - like less than 700 I think. If i hadn't recently bought a new synth I may have snapped it up!
