Important Announcement: the future changes at Fantomized and

Post by Artemiy »

Dear members,

I am here to tell you a few words about what is planned to be made in the next 2-3 weeks.

As the popularity of our sites grow, we have more and more members joining every day. Currently we have two active forums, Fantomized and V-Tribe. Lately, we have been adding support sections for a wider range of Roland gear, including Juno-G, SP-404 and MC-808 at Fantomized and SH-201 and VP-550 at V-Tribe. However, the known fact is that we have V-Synth discussions over Fantomized and Fantom-X/Juno-G talks at the V-Tribe.

We are currently planning to merge the forums together, to forum a single huge Roland Clan forum. The benefits are obvious:
- You will see discussions/opinions/tips on a very wide range of gear
- More users will come together to help each other
- No need to visit two different forums to talk about the whole range of your Roland rig
- It will be much easier for us to maintain the site, add new sections for new gear
- Our moderators team won't have to watch two forums

The merging will be done in several steps (and in fact it has already begun):

1. Fantomized will go to Roland Clan forums. http://forum.fantomized.info will redirect all links properly to the new location.
2. V-Tribe posts will be merged into Roland Clan forums. http://v-tribe.info/forums will redirect all links properly to the new location.
3. Roland Clan / Fantomized user base will be merged with V-Tribe user base. If you have accounts in both forums, your post count will be summed.

Also, we are not sure what location to choose for the new forum. Currently it's http://rolandclan.info/forums but we will open a subdomain like http://community.rolandclan.info or something like this. So feel free to make a suggestion!

If you have any questions, please post them here.

Sincerely,

Artemiy.

Artemio,

I think this is a very good idea. In fact, I've been wanting to suggest this myself for some time.
I'm not to informed on how these pages work, but isn't http://www.rolandclan.info/forums a good alternative?

Hugo, glad you like the future move. As about the URL, what you wrote is just a subfolder, and we want a subdomain, like:
http://community.rolandclan.info
http://universe.rolanaclan.info

Will this website (v-tribe.info) continue to exist?

Yes, Wiglaf, of course it will stay. We will be intergating most of the downloads/documents into the upcoming Roland Clan sections (so you get it all in one place), but v-tribe.info will still have a start page with important "shortcuts" to gear info, downloads, OS updates etc.

Makes sense to me, too. IrishActs recently restructured its web site to become KorgForums to cover most (if not all) Korg bases.

I have membership in both V-Tribe and Fantomized. Integrating everything under Roland Clans should help with making things more seamless instead of trying to cross reference back and forth between to different websites. Hope all goes smoothly.
Cheers,
Eric
