XT & VC2 question

Post by nawyecky_ »

Unless I really don't get it, it's impossible to have a modulator signal in the Vocal Designer on the XT come in through the analog inputs in the back, right? Only front jack and USB?

I could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure you CAN use the analog inputs on the rear, but you have to enable to rear jacks from the System Mode menu(in I/O tab i think).

The VC2 can't use the digital inputs though, for some odd reason.

No enable switch anywhere in System Mode, only stuff for USB input and front jack enable/disable...

Surely if you disable the front jack then the rear jacks become active?

Bit hasty in my reply. After some tests it seems that the rear input jacks will work with the VC2 anyway, regardless of the input jack switch setting.

Where and how do you set this up? I have sound going into the rear jacks, the PEAK led shows input activity, but I can't get the sound to go through the unit.

If your peak LED shows inout activity, then you are set up already. Don't forget that with many patches you need to attach and play a MIDI instrument while your sound source is playing, because the sound source is morphed with the sound of the v-synth patch and plays at the pitch of the MIDI note you play. If no MDI note is played then you will not hear anything!

I forgot to mention this, but obviously I was playing MIDI like a madman while having my singer constantly yelling into the microphone! BOTH leds, red and blue, were going wild, and still I couldn't get any sound. When I plugged a mic into the front connector it just worked instantly. So there must be a setting somewhere that I missed.

Think I've got it at last! From the VC2 main screen, press the Mode button (underneath the PC card slot). Then press System on the screen. On the left hand side of the screen will now be a row of icons, the bottom of which is called 'Audio I/F'. Press this, and make sure that the Input Jack Switch icon on the newly updated screen is set to 'On'. You also need to ensure that the Monitor Sw in the USB Audio Input Source section is turned off.
