I know that a lot of you including myself are craving the idea of using v-synth ins such a way that you can more freely edit patch structure during multitimral operation. I also realize that many of you would like greater polyphony from patches ESPECIALLY during multitimbral operation - NOW YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH ALL OF THIS - I've successfully been able to do this a program called SampleRobot (see specifics at SampleRobot.com). if you have a mac, look into a program called autosampler (assuming you have logic and its native sample player - exs - although I think it allows creation/exporting of multisamples in other formats) - Since I have a PC and I actulally use it, I'll dwell on SampleRobot. Basically, ya can hook up your synth to your PC (via midi in and out, and audio {I prefer digitally] to your soundcard). Now SampleRobot allows you to EASILY create multisamples (exportable in Halion/soundfound/Muliple wav files - (HEY FANTOM S/X guys!] - what's really cool is, that its the 1st program of its kind that actually has an interface for Recording samples/multisamples - Basically, the way it works is be sending note/realtime controller data to your hardware synths while simultaneoulsy recording on the inputs of your soundcard - you can then ctrl click on each key of the virtual keyboard and edit each samples - its awesome guys. you can do all of this UNATTENDED! - you can create Halion patches of every patch in V-SYNTH UNATTENDED - and then just used v-synth for sampling / mangling your homemade samples! - What's cool is, it will send program changes so this can be set up for unattended synth ripping - and your patches will be precisely ripped because it will record audio based on real time controllers also! So if you're patch is structured with cosm filters, you'll be able to send control data to halion and get the same RESULTS! - its awesome guys - stop waiting for Super V-synth to come out - trust me - Get sample robot.

Totally agree! Why on earth would you want a static sample of a VSynth patch? That's so .... 1980.
You would lose all that great control you have over time and format etc, using the dbeams, tt-pad, knobs...
Am I missing something here?

I just reviewed SampleRobot last week. It is a great piece of software but it's not something you would like to use with the V. Ok, you can sample some of the more static VA stuff (which sound just identicall, and with the sampling process being ultra-fast), but as far as the evolving sounds go, the result is far too repeatitive (you have no LFOs running there.... and you just don't want to sample each note for 20seconds!). It's a piece of software that is great for more conventional sounds (and its main purpose is to make your 'rig' more compact). I would never use that the way you suggest... I just find that silly!

guys - you're missing the point
you'll be able to edit when you set up the controllers corrrectly - this ofcourse will take up more memory than creating a more static multisample without setting up parameters, but you'll now be able to edit
Re: Guys - Anyone with a V-synth should check this out
why would you do that?
I don't think that increased polyphony (or the fact that you will have more instances of sampled V-Synths) is worth the fuss.
Other than that... even if you have sampled all the different CC settings (which doesn't need just 'some more memory'.... if you want to make the patch identical you'll have to sample all the different velocity layers combined with all the different CC settings... you don't even want to multiply them... the combinations are just too many!), you won't be able to really edit it... just edit a limited amount of parametres...
I think that you are missing the points... the ability to sample the different CC multisamples is there for performance purposes.

well
I guess your computer is in the 'Dinosaur' age if you're worried about memory/other resources with sample robots multisampling - I have a good computer - I worte this for people who want to pull out even more performance possibilities from the v 1 through 2 v-synth soundsets, since the V-synth hardware isn't lacking multitimbral capabilities - If you don't wan't to get more perfomance ability, then that's up to you. But I must say, for me its worked PERFECTLY. I Can edit assignable perameters from halion and my polyphony isn't limited. Like I was saying, you can sample each step of the controller knobs, guys. It's awesome - auto sampler is better though
