JP-8000 Stargate?
JP-8000 Stargate?
I just got the V-synth XT and i am trying to recreate a patch from my old JP-8000, a patch called "Stargate". There seems to be some really close versions already on the XT but yet it's missing something. Anyone familar with this JP-8000 patch and know how i would go about recreating it?
Re: JP-8000 Stargate?
Make a new sound.
The V can handle it.

Did it ;-)
Spacewave, I own both JP-8000 and V-Synth. Stargate uses 4 oscs, while V-Synth works with 2. We can get pretty close to the Stargate patch though. I did it just for the fun. Is there any space here where we can exchange some temporary files? The patch file takes 6kB ... or just send an e-mail to me: hato@REMOVEyucomTHIS.be

Watermelon:
you can now attach files to posts. Makes sure it's less than 100 KB and has allowed file type.
No, don't ask me. I saw this post of yours and spent about an hour implementing the attachments system

Artemio, you are incredible ;-)
I take the opportunity to heartly thank you for setting up this forum (and now the attachement thing). This is simply the best place over the internet to discuss about our beloved V-Synth. I guess our community will now grow faster with the release of the XT. Thanks again, man!
Regading the attachement, I forgot it home
Will post later on.

Oooooppps, what happened?
As I didn't attach anything, an error message occured. Are we now required to upload an attachement on each of our posts?

Re: JP-8000 Stargate?
Many thanks Watermelon! Looking forward to hearing it. I have emailed you as you suggested.
Re: JP-8000 Stargate?
Whopps, that was a bug!
Never implement things too fast
Fixed now.

Re: JP-8000 Stargate?
BTW, Watermelon, thank you so much for your kind comments. It is a big pleasure for me to hear this. You should know that such warm words is what keeps me so enthusiastic about all this
Although these days I might not have that much time to add new features to the forum, I am still very glad when I can bring some more usefulness here. Thanks again a real lot!
Anyway, what is to do is to be able to edit the attachment in the post editor - e.g. delete it or upload a new one in place of the old one.
BTW, there is no need to post your email in a spam(at)safe(dot)way etc. because I have an automatic anti-spam parser here, e.g. artemio@v-tribe.info (see, the "@" is actually an image, not a font letter).

I didn't expect such level of professionalism. My hat down!
Spacewave:

Here it is. I don't dare saying it is exactly the same patch, but as close as I could get in a 10-minute time tweaking. You'll never get the exact same sound because of the differences in the OSC structure (4 versus 2). Tell me if this satisfies you.
Just unzip, drop the patch in the Patch directory of your current project, and the patch will appear at location 512 (once the project has been re-loaded).

Re: JP-8000 Stargate?
Thanks for emailing it Watermelon. It's truly amazingly close to the original! Thanks a million!

Waterlemon, you see, I often make mistypes in my programs... and in member names...
The prob is that I have restricted the uploadable files to certain MIME types, and maybe your browser (IE) doesn't send a standard MIME type for zip archives (application/x-zip). Right now I'll add some code to display mismatched MIME type - please try uploading again and send this string to me if it appears. Thanks!
