Can't get Rhythm patterns to work.

I own a Fantom XR module and need help getting the rhythm patterns to play. I'm using Logic Pro 6 as my sequencer & have no problems with the set up of my midi. I have read the manual and been through the demonstrations and still cant get the rhythm patterns to play, even tried to create my own rhythm patch (with my own drum samples) & created my own rhythm patterns, still no joy.
Would really appreciate it if someone could explain how this can be acheived.
