Fruity Loops DEMO

Post by Hio »

Hi Guys

I can imagine how often this is asked. But "search" didn't help. So sorry if this was already asked.

I wanted to trigger the Fantom-Drums by a FruityLoops Pattern. Therefor I created a new Layer using "Midi Out". Because there is no preset for the Fantomx, I clicked on the "default-preset".

The Channel is 10, the Port is 16.
I also checked "enable Midi Output" in the Options-Menu.
The Fantom itself is in USB-Midi-Mode of course and I also selected it as the "Midi-Out" in the Fruity-Loops options.

so what is wrong?

thanks.

ok I've got them synced now (Fantom as slave and FL as master. The other way round doesn't work.... what a shame)

But theres still the Tempo-Issue (i've read about it in another thread), that FL runs at 119.7 BMP while my Fantom wants 120 BMP. But in Slave-Mode I can't correct the Tempospecification (the display is logicaly fixed to "midi").

Is there no way to fine-tune it in slave-mode? I mean ... I was going to buy Fruityloops. But if this doesn't work proper .... no way

Do you know any other Drum-App similar to FL?

thanks

Hio.

Hio,

How did you get them to sync up? I'm starting out with this and have no idea. What settings on my FL Midi options should I be setting things to?

What do you need to know to help me? I've got a crappy SoundBlaster sound card for now with a couple options that pop up in FL. They are Midi Mapper, Midi Syth, Midi Out.

Also what am I setting to in the Fantom? Or is there a thread I should look at?

Oh and I've got a Fantom Fa-76, might cause problems for you.

perhaps not necessarily similar to FL (which is great), but the closest I know of right now, and a really nice easy to use drum app if you like presets with a bit of life in them:
Steinberg's Groove Agent

In the Midi Settings of FLStudio just Select the FantomX as Device for Input. Make sure you select "Enable MAster Sync" in the Options-Tab.

The Fantom must be set to slave in the System-Options. This should work then
