poly issue with srx 1

Post by tower of power »

hi people....
ive recently bought srx 1 drums...

if im sequencing a drum loop. the ride cymbal sounds in particular seem to have a massive sustain on them.

therefore using up a large number of notes..
(iv'e a fantom-s so only 64 note poly :(

any ride drum sounds i play in the presets drum sounds dont seem to use up half as many notes !!!

is there a way i can stop this

many thanks in advance

Best way is that sample that loop alone, and to have it
played in the sequence - you'll spare voice polyphony
this way

About the sustain AFAIK, you can't edit preset sounds in the srx.
However you could biuld up another cymbal sound using the
same waves given in the original one, just tweaking the sustain
parameter.
Imho, , if it's necessary to you, the best and easier thing is still to sample that loop -
