In english?

If you don't take your time to write your question correctly, no one will take their time to answer it at all. ;)

If I may?

In performance mode you want to record preset number 13, you then save it as an SVQ. file. But you would like to change it to MIDI. But then you go into Patch mode and select Ultimate grand, then go to song list and load your song, and you hear piano as the sound, NOT preset number 13?

This is how i read, an understand your question (if this is one). Oh and what does "I would like to change it in midi" have to do with anything???

My suggestion would be to first explain what it is your trying to do, then explain what the problem is.

ie. Im trying to record a patch (guitar) in performance mode but when I save it and play it back in patch mode it plays as a piano. Can anyone tell me how I can record a guitar and save it, and it then plays back as a guitar?

Maybe it's the language barrier or something, but in English, what you wrote makes NO sense what so ever, i can't even understand what your trying to do let alone try and explain a solution for you that could help.

All the best,

To take an absolute stab it the dark.

Record in performance mode, save it, then play back in performance mode.

Patch mode will play what ever is selected on screen, regardless of what you selected in performance mode at the time of recording, so just leave it in performance mode.

Honestly though, this can't be your real problem. It wouldn't be this simple.

norton2,

To save your SVQ in Midi format, press 'Save/Load' button, then select 'Save as SMF'(F4 button). This will save your file in Standard Midi Format. You can then transfer it to your computer.

Be aware, however, that the originals sounds you used will not be saved in the file as they were in the SVQ, and will probably sound different on your computer.

Hope this helps you.

Create control change (0 bank select 85)
Create control change (32 Bank select 64)
Create programe change (programme change 13)
And Save SMF
But it doesn't work!Something is missing?

After you save the file as SMF, what are you doing? How are you transferring the file to your computer?

Sample your tune using resample and then download the wav file to your pc. You can then use whatever software you use to playback MP3s etc to listen to it. I assume that this is what you want to do and that you are not interested in editing the music on the PC.

no, no, no
I think that norton2 really wants to use the Fantom just as a sound module and play the file and edit the MIDI events on an external PC.

norton2
Did you noticed that Preset 13 is in fact "0 bank select 87" and NOT 85 (supposing we are talking about a Fantom X).

I also forgot to mention that you can WRITE (save) the Perfomance with the sounds you want as a USER Performance. This way you don't have to create the events on the sequencer :
1 - After selecting sounds You WRITE the perfomance on the Fantom
2 - Export the song as MIDI File
3 - Load the MIDI file into the PC
4 - Select the Performance you have previously saved on the Fantom before playing back the file on the PC

Hope this helps.

fixthemix,

I'm not sure that you're right. . . . norton2 can't use the Fantom as a sound module if they are not connected. He said earlier in the post:"how do you listen to a SVQ file from the Fx on a computer when they are not connected?I suppose that i must transform it in midi file, but i don't know how to do it ? "

Maybe I'm just getting this all mixed up. . ? . .
