If I thought any of those posts you claim to have seen were real... I might be concerned. And pretending surprise at my response isn't convincing either. It's hard not to spot that iron fist ...just under that silk glove.

Well, at least this is entertaining. : )

These are the "well respected" and "experienced" sources.

After visiting these sites I found a guy who is using my ZR piano card in a drum machine... and then complains that the piano didn't sound right. Another who complained that the piano wasn't compatible with Kurzweil (VAST) programming which is likely due to a pirated copy. We have someone who says he never liked the piano and yet never complained about it after spending $400. We have another who claims to have "a few" of my pianos who hasn't presented a serial number yet.

Anyway, all this has added my presence there which is a good thing.

The guy who you are talking about (the kurz programming) is Marino. IMO, i've found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I dont know if he used pirated copies or not, but when such a statement came from such a person, i just wanted to inform you that and ask you of what your answer would be.

Yes, it IS a good thing since HC is one of the most visited forums for musicians. Glad that you found my post to be useful.

So, do i, erm...get a comission or somethin'? :-P

Commission heh heh.... under consideration. But puleeze, before posting something like that again, consider the source. Here's a guy saying one of the great regrets of his music life was listening to a demo and buying a $400 piano. And another guy using a piano card in a drum machine.

As for Marino, I know who bought that serial number but Marino didn't present the code on the disk yet so I'm not sure who he is. This is the first I've heard of a complaint on that disk and it was sold in 2000! And I really know something is wrong when the complaint is... it sounds "thin." Describing the EQ problems sounds like a different volume than mine.

And if anything, Volume III especially in the Kurzweil is known for its warm (thick) sound which sometimes requires a light 3 dB shelf around 200 Hz for mixing. In fact, I had to thin it out a bit when I re-worked it for the Fantom and the Motif and it's still thicker than the Hamburg D. And by the way, this is the very piano I've included on my Fantom disk as the second piano. It's demo number 7 on my site.

So, if he is the original owner and it's a legitimate disk, there's no reason he can't get up to speed with Volume III but it will take time to analyze where his system got off track. The other bothersome thing is that he tinkered around with the programming and samples. Anyone familiar with VAST architecture could quickly unscramble the worst of programming and have the piano playing beautifully in a few minutes. So again, something's wrong. And the piano can deliver excellent results from the very first patch.

Anyway, just being on those sites quickly developes an appreciation for this site with it's simple presentation and less cluttered appearance. I felt like I was in a small box there.

Haha, not pulling art's leg, but i think this site could improve a lot with some smileys, quote abilities, a PM box and much more other things.

I'm sure he's working on it though. :-)

Your explanation explains it, though i dont know how anyone would ever get your CD pirated(unless his friend has it and he has no prob sharing it with him).

I've heard people pirate stuff like Windows Xp, softsynths, songs etc, but a piano collection for a rompler.....hmm, maybe i should try to get my hands on one... ;-)))

Just kidding....glad we cleared it up.

Pirating a disk that's been out almost six years is not unusual. Kurzweil synths are selling cheap these days and often my disk closes the deal which is of course contrary to the license agreement. Then the new owner considers it part of HIS property and shares it with whoever. The sharing is enough of a problem, but seeing your hard work offered on some European site for a price... yours along with hundreds of other titles from other developers... is just plain disappointing.

What's a PM box??

William, thank you for sharing your professional view on the Rhodes and EP's. I had a look at the E1 on your site - impressive rig. Its a pity they don't build these kind of keyboards anymore - I would love to own a brand new '2005' Rhodes.

Have you ever played Logics EVP88? (apparently Herbie Hankock is using it). Are you considering to create Rhodes samples for the Fantom in the near future? If so, I'll place an order right now.

Jost,
Check out the Mr.Ray 22/73 VSTi plug-in if you want a freebie. It doesnt have sampled rhodes/wurlis. It uses physical modelling.

I have both Mr.Ray 22 and Mr.Ray 73. both are absolutely great programs.

I won't rule a Rhodes out, especially if one were delivered to the studio for sampling but... my hands are full with keeping track of disappearing pencils and notes I've written on envelopes; maintaining four computers, designing ads, keeping up with my 94 year old mom, trying keep a girlfriend unit, answering the phone, sitrring the pot so the world is a better place to live... whew... but I would like to design you something and time permitting that may happen.

It looks like "old William C." is making more enemies than friends over at the Music Player Forum.

By the way William, your complete lack of professionalism and constant bashing of all other piano products on the market has made me promise myself that I will never make a purchase from you, as others have stated.

Check out what many industry professionals think of "William C."
