Re: quite sick with fantom
when you say new beats.....do you mean your creativity is stymied with the fantom or do you mean that you've run out of pre made patterns to include in your songs?

No offense, but....
I recall giving you links to several hundred loops in a post you did a couple of days back. You gonna tell me you already burned through those?

Re: quite sick with fantom
I thought there are 256 rythm patterns in the fantoms preset area.
With additions and subtractions to each one of those saved in the user area thats a total of 512 rythm patterns.
If there are eight different patterns in each song theres a total of 64 songs.
And...
(Am i understanding correctly?)

crueltrit,
tk is straight on. . . . . if you want them the way you like 'em, make them.
You'll learn things about your Fantom and be more original.

Re: quite sick with fantom
Ok....heres my problem:
I tried to use loops to create beats. Now, first of all, i really do not know how to do it correctly, but i tried using the sequencer. Whenever i try and loop the beat, there is always a gap in the end. I tried to truncate it, and it still wont work. Theres always a damn pause when it loops.
Secondly, how do i assign different loops to different pads? How do i get them to play continuously (without pauses) when i hit their assigned pad?
Secondly, i tried to create my own rhytms using the edit mode and step recording. But, i got no results. Whenever i record using step recording, the end result is always too fast. The keyboard wont recognize the speed at which i'm playing the damn beat!
If i try and manually enter each key, it takes too damn long.
I prefer creating my own beats using the loops method. I prefer downloading lopps and creating beats, but i am enocuntering soo many problems (mentioned above)

Crueltrit:
In the most respectful way, I must tell you: you've got so much to learn, and the knowledge is not going to come as easy as you may be expecting, but the trip will be worth it in the end.
You need to invest time, effort and a few million neurons in the Fantom, just like in any other machine that requires some technical expertise.
Then there is the artistic element - the skill - cuz no matter how good you are at understanding how a beat may be built, regardless of the method (step recording, real-time recording, looping, etc.) only correct practice will make you proficient at actually building it.
I say this with the best of intentions. Good luck.

Again here are step by step intructions to asign program changes and other stuff to pads.
Use the sequencer to record your beats [If using multiple tracks) and then copy these beats to a patterns. If using only one track, then you can create your beats directly on a pattern. Then assgn your patterns to pads as described in the link above. Start from there and keep on reading and asking. You'll be fine.
This one is very usefull too.

Re: quite sick with fantom
Thanks a lot guys for all the links..
however, one question still persists.
when i download a loop -- get it in my fantom through audio import -- how do i go about looping it continuously? I tried the sequencer, however, it always leaves a pause in the end and whenever i loop, there is a pause in the end. I tried truncating it, but that never works. How do i make a continuous, pause free, loop?

Re: quite sick with fantom
I dont understand youre loop question
Do you mean youre playing your beat on the keys and record them to audio and loop them over and over????
In my opinion, the best way to go is with the sequencer and patterns.
When you assign your patterns to the pads, if you select the correct loop mode, they will play over and over, you can even input the amount of times you want the pattern to loop.
One thing you should know is that for the patterns to play in sync correctly, you need to have your sequencer running (play). What I do is that after I have created all my patterns, I go to loop/locate and set a 2 bar loop on blank measures so the sequencer is running but wont play any info I have on any track.
