How do you know what Jesus wants you to be? I guess that would be the Bible.

How do you know what the Bible says? The translations and interpretations.

So how would you know for sure that Jesus would want people to be not homosexual?

I do agree that the site I mentioned has it's reasons and agenda. But it's just one of the many where you can find the same argument. an argument that does make sense.

And yes I agree you should try to live like Jesus. But I think it's very important to note that Jesus explained how to live in parables, not with rules. Live to the spirit of the parables and you will be what Jesus wants you to be.

I'm sorry if it has been interpreted by my statements, that I somehow "know" these things. A more appropriate word would be that I "believe" these things.

I'll write out this prayer right now. "Lord, forgive me if I have, in my limited understanding, come to any wrong conclusions from reading the Bible. Help me to continue to grow and understand Your Word through reading and prayer, and to be an example to all those around me."

I'm sorry if I offended you. That was not my intention.

I' m not homosexual, but some friends of me are. And I 'm still surprised by how bad they sometimes are treated by people they don't even know. They are yelled at in public (sinners, burn in hell...) but they don't hurt anyone. That's why I'm inclined to come to their defence...

Yeah, that's too bad. Even the most inaccurate interpretation of what the Bible or Jesus said could not bring one to the conclusion that we should treat people this way. "Love your neighbor as yourself." doesn't look like a conditional statement to me.

"Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Now, Jesus quoted the old testament regularly and the Apostles wrote most of the New Testament. The Bible is the revelation of Jesus. This is how we know who He is. When I have time I or another will list specifics on how the books of the Bible have been compiled. But the purpose of the Bible is obvious.

well since the majority of the bible was written after christ, I would think that those mortal men who wrote the text knew nothing of what christ belived..

you can't confuse the two. the bible was written years after christs death.. how can anyone claim to have known christs beliefs other than his gospel? No one can, so by default, isn't the bible nullified?

anyway, I just don't think it is right to say someone is wrong when they are genetically predisposed to it. And don't tell me homosexuality is a choice. it is a documented fact that key sexual centers in the brains of homosexual males resemble heterosexual females... it is certainly genetic, one is born gay....

so are they born wrong? didn't god make him, so didn't god make him gay? so you are calling what he is wrong, you are calling god wrong... you are going to hell!

Orwell...You see, just because we are born inclined to do something does not make it the right thing to do. Christians believe that we were born as sinners. We are inclined to do anything imaginable unless our up bringing or training teaches us otherwise. Most children, for example, display selfishness at an early age. They are trained with great effort how not to be selfish.

God bless you friends! I am honored and humbled to be officially part of the American Family Association as Issue Editor on Homosexuality and the Homosexual Agenda.
As a man who once lived the homosexual lifestyle until I was 28 years old, well with over 100 men sexually (many whom are dead today from AIDS), my heart's desire and passion is to reach the homosexual man and woman for Jesus Christ with the truth in love: that no one is born homosexual, and complete change is completely possible through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!

As Issue Editor, I will use this platform to reach out to those men and women struggling with homosexuality unhappy with their same sex attractions and lifestyle; to broken hearted parents, family members and friends who are hurting - looking for answers and for hope; as well as to educate Christians and America with the truth about the homosexual lifestyle and the homosexual agenda - specifically, how to reach and minister to these dear ones in love.

After actively living the homosexual lifestyle for 11 years, I will bring you an insider's view into a world and lifestyle few outsiders truly understand. Are you born that way? Is homosexuality a choice? Or, are neither of those statements true?

Also, we'll look deep into the 'homosexual agenda' - the militant movement by a few homosexual men and women who are turning this country upside down via the public schools, the media, the government - and sadly, even the church. Keep in mind, all homosexuals are not part of this militant movement.

This area on the AFA website will be one which addresses what I believe is the most controversial, hot button issue in America today: homosexuality. For those who know me know I have a real heart for the homosexual. I lived in a 'glass house,' so I've learned not to throw stones. I always address this issue with the truth in love - never attacking the person, but dealing with the sin -- and yes, according to God's Word beyond a shadow of a doubt, homosexuality is a sin.

I want this area on AFA.net to become a 'clearing house' on this issues of homosexuality and the homosexual agenda. Plans are in development for addressing the media, the government, the church and much more. Please tell your friends and family about this section, and visit often, as the site will be continually evolving.

Finally, I want you to know there is a person on the other side of your computer screen, someone who truly cares and understands. I am here for you in any way possible - to talk, to answer any questions you may have, to pray with or for you, or just to listen.

You see, in 1992 while happily in love with another man who was going to be my partner for life, I was confronted with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My eyes were opened, the veil of wickedness removed, the chains that bound me were loosed and I accepted Christ as my Saviour - I was born again.

Today, I am happily married to a beautiful Christian woman, my wife Irene, for over 9 years. Irene knew me when I was 'gay' and never stopped praying for my salvation. We have 2 precious little children, a boy and a girl. I no longer struggle with homosexual thoughts, actions or desires, and the Lord has completely set me free from a life of loneliness, emptiness and pain - a life which nearly destroyed me.

Friend, God loves the sinner - yet He hates the sin. We need to reach out to the homosexual man and woman in love with the only thing that can set them free - the Truth - the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Orwell, take it easy man. I can honestly tell you that I am not judging anyone who is homosexual. With all due respect, I am free to believe a thing is right or wrong. Don't you believe some things are wrong? My faith is strong and my belief system is based on my faith.

On the Bible. The Bible is God's letter to humanity collected into 66 books written by 40 divinely inspired writers. (The guys who collected the books were not the writers.) These writers come from all walks of life (i.e., kings to fishermen) and spans over a period of 1,500 years or more.
