Bassman,
The patches that i'm gonna use will all be from the Fantom S only, so it will be compatible with the Fantom X (using FS patches).

Even if i have some patches that i've created on my own, the Fantom will load it in its temporary memory.

I've previously sent songs to my friends who had Fantom Xs and they've had no problems in loading the song.

A small correction : i think the one who explained the GM system to erica must have said that midi files that use GM banks sound the same throughout. i'd say that's correct.

Erica,
no problem. I'm not even in the place where Marriot hotel is, but thanks for the offer anyways. i'm just doing this for fun. I dont expect any reward in return.

Thnkx again, and i'll try to deliver the SVQ asap.

Robi, if you copy and paste the link to your browser, then click on "click here to download file now" then you should be able to download the song.

I still think you'd be better off mailing her a completed CD.

Why make things harder than they need to be? What is the advantage - to Erica - of getting an SVQ file that she may not even know how to use?

ANYONE can play a CD.

Tell ya what ... email ME the SVQ and I'll burn the CD!

sambasevam,

I'm with dansgold on this. You can still meet the challenge of creating the SVQ and havng fun with it if an audio CD is made. It's just so much easier for erica to handle, and that is what the end purpose of this is, isn't it? She wants to be as comfortable as possible while singing, I'm sure.

btw, you are correct in that all patches, performance, etc. will be loaded with the file. However, if someone inadvertently changes any or all of the above, the file may not sound as planned. You have sent files to friends who own an X, but in this case you don't know the level of expertise of who will be handling this.

And one of the obvious questions is will the recipient know how to properly transfer the file, etc., to load it in? You've already read of the numerous USB file transfer problems folks have experienced. Are you sending the file on Compact Flash?

Not trying to rock your boat. . . . just wanting this to work for erica.

I think dansgold has the best win/win solution for this situation. jmho

Well, i'm half way through the song, and the chords are pretty easy too. It takes only 3-4 tracks for the entire song! its that simple, yet so melodious and enthralling. I like it!

Dansgold,
i'll send the svq to you first. aight?

Sambasevam,

Please call me an idiot in case this doesn't sound good. But your nick always reminds samba. Did you ever thought about it?
I've downloaded the song too. I've found this topic a great moment to help someone, but you took the position before. I wish you all the best in this project.
And the song is really amazing. The american music as it is, and as it should be... Rich, in my opinion.

Erica,
I would like to know you better, I'm from Brazil and I work with music too. I'm member almost since its foundation.
Basically I work with jingles for radio stations and now I'm starting to invest in my career of singer and composer. And I would like to have a friendship with you. Is this possible?
I wait anxiously for your reply.

Thanks in advance.

Peace - Edu Camargo.

Edu,

haha! some of my friends used to call me that, but they added a "r" making it "sambar" (an indian recipe) and some of them call me "sombu" ("a vessel" in tamil) I had thought about samba before, but i dont listen to that type of stuff i guess. lol! ;-)))

thnkx for the motivation, again, infact, i'd like to have friendship with YOU. you asked erica, you never asked ME. :-(

i need a lot of advice from an experienced guy like you. i'm basically a noob, but trying out a lot of stuff/experimenting/learning my way through. I always wanted to get into producing jingles/commercial music etc., but i've never spoken to an actual person who was involved in such stuff. Now that i've found you, prepare to be HAUNTED!! ;-)))

Peace,
Sam.

Sambasevam

Hope you have the opportunity of listening to some peece of songs of this genre.
Particularly, I love a mixture of samba and soul. There are a lot of brazility and richness in this kind of song. Of course sometimes people try to reduce it to anything but product, but many here resist the bad influences and continue making qualifyed music.

Now Brazil is learning that local labels do the job, and the multis just have the obligation to distribute the material around the world.

And I'm about making good frendships here, not just for Fantomized purposes. This means that everyone who has interest on getting me can do so. Obviously this includes yourself.

Naji,
I always had the intention to hit the international market. And Radio1 is for me a sweet dream! What kind of help do you need? Can you help me too?

Let's talk about this now! But people, don't forget Erica.

Peace - Edu Camargo.

Naji,
Of course jingle has some kind of formula, but there's no specific rule to reach the final work. I'll give you a sample.
The fact is that I am a third part of a company called Opus Studio (http://www.opusestudio.com.br. All jingles I do for radio stations are through this company.
You can visit the site to check some of my works. To be honestly, most of them contained in that site is mine. Just using synthesizers, with or without sampler.

Well we can talk some more to each other.

Peace - Edu Camargo.

Why has this thread been highjacked from the original thread?

It would be simple courtesy to start a different thread for discussing radio jingles.
