Fantom-X Screen

Post by asafar »

I took my Fantom-X on a plane and when I reached the destination I turned it on and the screen is Black no more light and I have to use a flash light to be able to see a little did any one had this problem before?
Maybe the FX screen does not take shock or a sudden bang.

And if there is a way that we can fix it ourselves if we had to in a situation where you don't have time to take it fro repair?

This is the 2nd Fantom that had this problem from flying and one of my friends had the same problem too.

Hey asafar, I can't comment on your FX screen, but I like to comment on your music.

I visited your website and checked out a couple of your demos. Man, you got some wild and great stuff there, I am really impressed. Is it all done with these little Arranger keyboards?

Congratulations again, I hope a few other Fantomized members will check out your songs.

I don't know if your problem is related to the fact that the LCD screen may not light immediately after powering up. This is, according to documentation, absolutely normal.

Low air pressure..

Post by Quixx »

Assuming your fantom traveled in the luggage compartement, it may have been damaged by rapid tempreture change or more likely air pressure drop.

Most LCD screen are lit by a long florescent tube along one side. Drop the air pressure around it, and the gases might leak out a little and it won't light any more.

Unfortunately, since the bulb is usually integrated with the display, you usually have to replace the entire display.

Thank you guys for replying to my topic.
I am sure those people who handle the luggages are not careful with the way they handle them even though I have a fragile stickers on the Case and by the way the Case I have looks just like the SKB but I got it from Music123.com

http://www.music123.com/MTS-Products-Ke ... 5006.music

and I can see some physical abuse to the case and one broken lock.

out of flying 4 times in the past couple months 2 times the FX was fine and 2 times no screen and I had to play it by using the Favorite banks and F-keys which was still OK but I was like guessing about what sound it is going to be LOL.

Thank you jost for visiting my site and yes most of the Demos are done on Ketron/Yamaha and Korg arrangers.

Well, if you are going to be flying often, you need to get a full ATA-1 Spec 300 case like this:

SKB cases are very nice for local use, but they don't hold up to airline abuse, in my experience.
