Midi file does not appear in the songlist
Midi file does not appear in the songlist
Hi,
I have specific midi file which I stored onto my X7 from my PC. The strange thing is that the file does not appear in the song list. With other midi files it is no problem except for this specific one. With the File utilities i can see it and delete it.
I repeated the action and even have given the file a 8 character file name... no success
Has anyone an idea what the problem is
Greetings

are you sure it exists in the ROLAND/SEQ

Re: Midi file does not appear in the songlist
It is stored on the right location and the name i already changed to never.mid... maybe "never" is a reserved word (probably not) so i will try to rename it to test.mid to be sure
Re: Midi file does not appear in the songlist
I believe you can filter certain midi file types. .svq, .mid etc. So use left end right arrow buttons to select the correct filter.

Already tried that but that dosn't help.
I also tested the file by loading it into Cubass and that is also not working so i think the file is corrupt . Surprises me that the workstation these files already skips in the songlist.

Re: Midi file does not appear in the songlist
Does the Fantom accept type 0 and type 1 midi files? If not try to convert to the one it does accept.

Re: Midi file does not appear in the songlist
Yes I've had this problem before too. I had a MIDI file that played perfectly fine in Winamp, but would not play in Cubase or any other software sequencer, and it wouldn't even show up in the Fantom to load it.
I still don't know what was wrong with that MIDI (i.e. what type it is), but I would be interested to hear the definitive answer on this: do MIDI files have to be in a specific format to load into the Fantom?

Rick,
I'm done a lot of midi files on my old XP-50 and now on FX6 and haven't have any problems either on type 0 or type 1 midi files. I'll be curious the know the answer. I'll be glad to test your midi file on my FX if you want to send it to me at midiaxe at hotmail dot com.

I have also loaded and saved both Type 0 and Type 1 MIDI files on my X6. Like midiaxe, I am a bit curious here why this file doesn't work. I'll throw my hat in the ring to test it also.

I am at this present moment going thro hell where no midi files will appear in the song list ,despite going into the roland seq folder and all being listed there. WHY don't they play !!! All I ever get is the bloody demo song HELP HELP HELP
Re: Midi file does not appear in the songlist
Be sure that the MIDI file is located on roland\seq\sng.
In my FS the MIDI files has appeared in first place. Strange not?

Re: Midi file does not appear in the songlist
make sure you tranfer your file with USB cable from PC to FX. The files won't appear if you use PCcard reader or others to copy files
