Pro Tools LE

Post by Chop »

I'm trying to track my songs from the X-6 to Pro Tools LE and have every instrument on it's on track without having to record one by one and lining the tracks up. Could some one explain how I set Pro Tools LE to master and my X-6 to slave and have Pro Tools control the X-6? I am new to this, so please give step by step instructions and settings for the X-6 and Pro Tools LE.

to kinda speed up the process, you have 4 outs on the Fantom, and you can assign each part to its own output channel...that's about all I can say now though...I'm not versed enough in protools yet to give you a direct answer yet...

I am a ProTools Digi 02 user. Chop, your question can't be answered in just a few steps. ProTools is a 'huge' hardware-software set-up with an enormous depth to audio recording. This can't be 'harnessed' in just one forum thread - it requires ongoing training and practice. I recommend you seek personal tuition otherwise you develop 'bad' habits that will throw rocks at your creativity. Most Universities or Private Colleges offer weekend and night classes for ProTools.

ProTools is a short-cut for "professional tools", so make sure to learn from the Pros.

Maybe my wording was off, all I want to know is how do I configure my Fantom X6's sync/tempo screen and Pro Tools LE setup to have the X6's stop/play function be controlled by Pro Tools. The settings should be standard, huh? In other words, Pro Tools LE will be the master and my X6 the slave.

gtrdude--i just did this---just hook up the digital I/O to the digital I/O to ur interface---then in protools...in the harware setup tab in the top, you have to selet S/PDIF and your signal will work.....as for your interface i dunno what ur using!

I'm using mbox like you -

Hey, thanks dude - any input on the mbox would really help. When I record it's very low volume on the track - way lower than most input (guitar/mic). Are you selecting (for input) Mic/line 1? IF I select 's/pdif/' it say the input path is not active.

My feed from the X6 is very low when it hits pro tools. IS there any other setup I need to do? I went to hardware setup and selected s/pdif and I AM getting a feed from mbox - but it's weak. I have imported into audio from other sources and it sound fine. Any help is appreciated.
