What is SRX-11?

Post by 2TIM316 »

It looks like "Ultimate Grand" but that would make no sense since the initial info says it's "compatible w/ Fantom X6/7/8". So maybe it's another quadruple-strike acoustic piano (just what we DON'T need). I was really hoping for a really killer SRX-Rhodes type board.

Anyway, I'm sure this "new" piano will suck in mono, and thus be unusable for my gigging needs.

Feel your pain as far as playing LIVE 2T.......

Hello by the way it's been awhile and hope you are well.:-)
I bought a floor model Motif ES6 last summer rather then lament that our Fantom-S was long forgotten by Roland like it's predecessor was.
But having the S88 with the SRX-02 I like the samples from the new SRX-11 and might buy it.
A killer Rhodes board would indeed be on my purchase list.
I use the S88 primarily for just playing in the studio and recording.
Are there any "portable & affordable" duo keyboard amp combos that you could use to enjoy stereo piano live?
New Vocal SRX boards would be great too!
Peace,
Tony ;-)

I noticed that one of the patches on SRX-11 is called "SuperiorMono", hopefully that one will be optimized for mono. I know what you mean about most of Roland's pianos having a problem in mono.

How do you mean "having a problem in mono"?

Since almost all piano samples are recorded in stereo, when one plugs in the synthesizer in mono (such as into one amplifier at a gig), the phasing that results makes the piano sound unusable. This is the case with "Ultimate Grand" from the Fantom-X series. My solution - I use "So True" or "Warm Grand".
