How funny...
How funny...
I was planning to buy a Montage when Fantom was released.
Got a Fantom 8.
And after using my Fantom 8 connected to my beloved old CVP-96 via wireless MIDI to get external voicing I just found it a bit boring not having the chance to adjust those added external parts as I do with ZEN-Core tones, so I have been planning for a while to add a Montage 6, a MODX 6 or even a Fantom 6...when Fantom 0 was released. Terrific.

Re: How funny...
This being said, I finally bought a 2nd hand Montage and even though ergonomics are horrible (compared to Roland FA, Fantom, etc, that can be used without reading the manual), the sound of the Montage blew my mind... I will still buy a Fantom soon, but both boards together are the dreamstation
Re: How funny...
Agree... unnecessary complex I might say. I am just keeping it for the sounds... but when you need 100 tutorials to master it, there is a problem somehow...
Re: How funny...
When you say one needs 100 tutorials to master it, you mean 100 thousands, don't you ?
And still no screen dimming...

Re: How funny...
Hi everybody,
FGM, if I well understand, you now have a Fantom 8 and a Fantom 0, don't you ?
May I believe that the sounds are almost the same (but without V-Piano)
I know the sequencer is the same ...
How is the keybed compared to the Fantom 8
I am above all interested by the 32 pounds, a so big difference with the Fantom
Thx

No, no, still with Fantom and CVP-96.
I am still yet waiting for prices to settle down...
But I am very quick at accommodating myself to what is placed below my fingers, although I very much prefer the feeling of my Fantom 8 keyboard to the one on the CVP-96.
Anyway it doesn't matter much since I am planning that keyboard, be it a MODX, a Montage another Fantom or the new 0, as a mere sound module for the EXT parts of the zones.
Maybe I could get the very same just with a DAW, but I am as bad with those as with cooking: I use a can opener to open the eggs.
Not in a hurry at all...999€ and I might click on it... whatever it is.

How are you connecting them., please ?
MIDI and audio...?
A single USB cable...?
Re: How funny...
Fantom is still not here :-(
Even though is not yet clear, Fantom will be the midi master, and Audio back from Montage to inputs in Fantom. Keep you posted once working ;-)

Re: How funny...
Thank you...
I supposed that was the way...
Anyway, Montage is such a powerful concept that I am not sure if I could forget the SuperKnob via CVP-7 and let it degrade to a simple sound box.
So in the end, Montage would easily be asking to serve as the master and it turns out I am so frightened about the fact of myself not being capable enough...
And the loop starts again...

Re: How funny...
A Montage for 1500 EUR is a no brainer deal. Say no more... this board gave to me the will for exploration of new sounds, creatively. However, if you intend to use it as workstation / sequencer (even though has linear and pattern based seqs), it's way far away of Fantom concept...
Re: How funny...
Last week was at 1400...then 0 was announced...
Re: How funny...
With 0 you will have a Fantom still ;-) and not sure how owners of both models will react to an smaller screen. If you want to increase your sound palette, go for the Montage. If you want to be able to move your Fantom(s) for live gigs, Fantom0 is a no brainer solution and looks well at value for money
