For those who didn't know, you can use the Torcido, Scooper, Bitrazer and Demora FX modules with your MX-1 mixer via the AIRA USB inputs. This means you'll get another stereo analog input, plus you can add the FX on that with MIDI clocked sync. Not to mention that the audio inputs are dc-coupled!

Check the video out on how it all works.

Do you ever find the Scooper to be excessively noisy? In fact I'm trying to work out what is the worst peice of kit that I own, and it's choice between this little shitbox of grief or the MX1. Both are incredibly noisey whooshwhooshwhoosh etc etc

I'm yet to find a way to record into the Scooper successfully.

For example, say I want to record from a Boutique into the Scooper. I take a 3mm stereo out from the output of the boutique and use some splitter type connection into both of the mono inputs in the Scooper. Result, a noisy
shitty sample that is only good for mashing up. Am I doing something wrong?

I've tried so hard with this thing but everytime I give it another shot, I'm disappointed yet again and it's ends up back in it's box!

Is your boutique and/or mx-1 connected to a usb cable? This may induce weird noises coming from the power grid.

Furthermore, it is better to use a dedicated 3.5 mm stereo to 2x 6.35 mm mono jack cable than a splitter.

Also, try to keep the length of the cable as short as possible, since it is not a balanced signal.

Not at all - audio is clear and crisp. Perhaps you have a ground loop issue - or maybe the MX-1 pre's are too hot?

Thanks for you responses chaps. I think you might be right about the cable I did think the splitter might cause an issue.

I tend to have my TR8 volume on max with no gain on the MX1, this channel seems to be good. The Scooper is also on max since the input signal seems to be very low. My Yamaha CP Reface is another noisy one, again, the input is max volume on the CP with some gain on the MX1.

Overall, I seem to have to do this otherwise the signals into the MX1 (apart from the TR8) seem very low.

Out of interest what volume levels does everyone use for the MX1?
