USING THE WNA1100 USB WIRELESS AND JP SYNTH EDITOR

Post by GuyM »

Ok so mine has arrived...so how do I use it to talk to the iPad JP Synth Editor?

Does the USB dongle have to connect to a local wireless network

When I plug it into the J50 nothing happens so I am assuming it has to connect to something...I thought it might send out its own local wireless network and the J50 would just connect to it?

Anyhow ..can someone who has it working talk me through the steps needed to get the iPad talking directly to the j50?

OK having done some more searching, I have found the manual on WIRELESS and AD-HOC Mode
So have set up J50 in Ad-HOC and set iPad to connect to it
SO now I am ready for the EDITOR!
However, once connected (J50 to iPAD) ...I can then use the READ function to copy in the settings for the current UPPER to the iPad (or that's what I thought it would do)
However, as I scroll / dial wheel through the UPPERS for my current REGISTRATION ...and then stop and press READ...the resulting patch displayed on the iPad is NOT the one I am looking at on the J50?
So what am I doing wrong ?

Ah forget it :) I think I have now found out you have to be actually EDITING the UPPER (in that REG) for that current UPPER to leap into the iPad from the J50!!

We have successfully used the wireless adapter with our Juno-Di for the Air Recorder App. My daughter loves it. Unfortunately it doesn't connect to any of the other apps via wifi, at least you have the editor app for the iPad that works (upper, as you discovered). We connected it successfully to our home wifi without any issues. There are some really good discussions on it (google it) and helped us a lot. I have yet to try the ad-hoc but hope to have that opportunity soon. Good luck!
