NEW Web Site...try again (i had the wrong URL b4)

Post by drfreejon »

www.lipservicemusic.com

**** DO NOT GO TO WWW,LIPSERVICEBAND,COM ***

This my first attempt at a half professional web site.
It's not really done yet, but I'm always looking for input.

I know some of the picts are a bit blurry. Someone told me that I sized them wrong in photoshop.
Do the videos load quick enough?

I don't have any good picts with my FS yet...just my 01/wpro.
I know, I wear a lot of purple.

(read the last comment on the site....it's my favorite. there's also a hidden link to THIS page if you click on my picture.)

Thanks,

When the student is ready, the teacher will come.

If you want to make professional websites you absolutely _have_ to cater for other browsers than Internet Explorer. It really isnt that hard if you take time to learn to use other tools than MS Frontpage. I got absolutely no joy from your website. Sorry.

I'm using Adobe Golive 6.0.
I'll check it on Netscape tonight.

Sorry for the Double Post

Just downloaded the newest, shiniest version of Netscape....the page looks beautiful. Navigator even read all of my Floating Boxes, Tables and Grids (a la Adobe).

Sorry for not supporting anything else....but I have a specific market I'm going after.....stupid, drunk club go-ers and degenerate compulsive gamblers.
Most (all) of those "types" won't be on anything 'cept IE.

While I think the design could be much better, it does appear fine in Firefox/Netscape and it delivers all the information in a readable format, so a good start.

I think my initial comment was based on the wrong url. lipservicemusic.com renders fine in my browser ( Opera 7.5). At least much better than it did yesterday evening :-)

A couple of advice, though:

The black background isn't exactly my cup of tea, but that is a matter of taste. Usually light text on a dark background is more difficult to read than the other way round, especially for people with reduced eyesight.

You are using a variety of fonts. Choose one font family and stick to it. The same goes for font colours. Choose one or two font colours and use them consistently.
