When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?

So it looks like that sound module is going to be a rackmount version of the JP-80
The writing on the left translates from German to English as "All 12 SRX boards installed".

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
Yes this seems like the fabled ARX expander. I hope this is true about it being part Supernatural and also having the SRX stuff... could be a great complement sound wise to the Fantom G
Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
This is a little weird. The Fantom G has a soud engine similar to the X, but it's not compatible with the SRX boards. It doesn't have a SN engine either. And the ARX boards, after covering just a few basics, were no longer developed. While the new Integra-7 brings together older technology (SRX) with the new one (SN), the G seems stocked somewhere between these. It's unique, but in the wrong way -)
Hopefully, if the SRX are now already included in the package, they will gradually leave the market scene as individual items, and newer tech should be developed (ARX). Also, I imagine Roland can't just keep producing synths with the SN structure of JP80/50 only - and in that way ARX will be the way to go. Probably they thought the change was being made too fast. Anyways I'm just guessing ;) but since there will be no further improvement of the G's OS, at least they should give us the wanted...

I thought , the FG already has the best of SRX in the internal Ram ?
Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
Technically, it does, Jabberwocky, but in real terms "the best of..." is very subjective.

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
True, but if a company like Roland says 1) best of and 2) 'unverzichbaren' -> what doesn't mean all, but more like 'needed' ... don't you feel it's the same ?
Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
From this site:
- Flagship synth module with over 5,000 sounds built in
- The latest SuperNATURAL sounds with enhanced Behaviour Modelling technology for expressive acoustic instruments and accurate reproduction of performance articulations
- Powerful SuperNATURAL synth engine with fat analogue synth models and vintage filter types
- Dynamic SuperNATURAL drum engine with natural tonal change, derived from Roland V-Drums
- For producers, the must-have SRX Expansion sound library is built in; all 12 SRX titles included
- Dedicated multi-effects and EQ for each part (16 parts), plus dedicated COMP+EQ (use six simultaneously) for drums and ambience parameters for SuperNATURAL drum kits
- Innovative 17-part Motional Surround ambience engine for stereo, headphone, and 5.1-channel output
- INTEGRA-7 Editor for iPad and Motional Surround VSTi Editor for SONAR software
The Integra sells at this site for 1399 GBP.
Reading these specs and considering the fact that it comes with an iPad editor I'm really tempted to get one, even though I never have been fond of modules.

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
ROFL... i saw what you did there....
to me, this isnt even any use as a module with the FG without an os upgrade to FG as a controller... the synth action keys need more velocity profiles to be fully effective with a decent piano patch.. we need oct +/- for external parts... and i also see no mention of the VA part of the JP80 being included... but at $1k discounted it would be a solid bread & butter module for general purpose use... probably will be part of a new VS700 upgrade for Sonaraster wrote:This is Fantom g 2.0 update and it only costs 1399GBP.

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
yeah, exactly what it is. It's relatively inexpensive taking inflation into consideration LOLaster wrote:This is Fantom g 2.0 update and it only costs 1399GBP.

Something tells me Roland has abandon workstation business...
Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
Well
I've been waiting to upgrade OS fantom g
I was waiting ARX cards for fantom g, example:
- ARX SuperNATURAL Acoustic - 4 part multitimbral
- ARX SuperNATURAL Synth - 8 part multitimbral
- ARX All SRX collection - 16 part multitimbral
Do not lived to see the. While I hope that the fantom g has not been abandoned and come to him new ARX cards and update the system!
I think it still is a great my fantom g8, integration-7 is the perfect complement to the fantom G, fantom g sequencer provides 16 external channels so it can be combined into a single unit. ;))
But still waiting for update os fantom g and ARX cards

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
integra 7 = $1999.00
JP 50 = $1999.00
JP 80 = $3499.00
Well, for module i wouldn't spend this amount. Do the surround really worth that much? well nice to have but not sure if will make a difference in live performance. I guess the only way to check it is to test it on my church digico SD8 and see if its really give out that image. But if its really ment for studio, then am sure its not a big deal cause software now days can do the same with less amount then this integra 7.
So the true test would be live performance and using this surround where i say will be the most appreciated and worth getting it. i guess, this integra needs to stand out on its own to justify 2grand.
As far as business and marketing goes, i can see the idea here by speading its new inovative technology in different product make sense. Ok why 7? why not call integra 4 for its 4 part? now what is that 7 stands for?
