Assign sample problem when using MIDI

Post by wudsiba »

Greetings!
Having a strange issue. I recently got myself an MV8800, amazing instrument, and I'm using it to sequence my Fantom x6. Here's the situation: I'm in multi mode, and I'm in the sample editer. I edit the sample then assign it to track 6. Track six now has whatever is assigned to the very first patch in the fantom. Sample is nowhere to be found. I go back to the sample edit page and try to assign it to the next track: Same thing.
Set up is very simple: Midi out of X6 to in of MV. Midi out of MV to in of X6. I also have the local control off in this set up. If I disconnect the MIDI cables and switch local control back on it works fine. Is there a setting I need to adjust?

Is the remote keyboard switch set to on? Go to menu, then system, then midi, scroll to bottom under receive to set the switch on.

I tried that, but it just held every note on in some kind of midi mix up. What did end up working was adjusting what was transmitted. I ended up turning off the transmit bank select and edit data. Thanks for the idea.

That's great. Glad to hear you got it to work.
