[REQ] RPS Live Sound Switch tutorial .doc (Fantom X)

Post by paparologistgr »

Hello gang,

I've been trying to get a hold of lazeeboy's tutorial .doc on RPS Live Sound Switching (used to be in http://www.nitertautomatisering.nl/fant ... VE_0_1.doc) but to no avail. I've tried to figure out some of what he says from viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7739 but I seem to be lost on the general concept :)

Any kind soul that still has the document (or ANY of his material - SVQ templates etc) on their hard drive and could re-up it/them?

Thank you in advance!

Hello paparologistgr,

I attached all files Live settings was found in clan forums.

There are some other ways to save your patches/performances in live mode:

First and the easiest: 16 patches and/or performances in 1 .SVQ file

1. Connect your fantom to your PC
2. Set fantom USB mode to midi
3. Open X Editor
4. Choose your patch/performance, you want use in live mode
5. Push read button in X Editor
6. Next : File/Export SMF/Keyboard patch or performance (in this case all settings will be saved in a .mid file)
7. Repeat 4,5,6th steps with every favorite sound which you use in live mode
8. Copy your .mid files to your memory card (ROLAND\SEQ\SNG)
9. INIT your song (Song edit/F4 Song utility / Song Clear
10. Push Save/Load button
11. Push LOAD SONG
12. Select your 1. .mid file which want to use
13. Push Load track (F7) button
14. Select TRK1 to PTN001, then push F8 (next .mid TRK1 to PTN 002, and so on)
15. Repeat 10-15th steps till you have 16 patch/performance
16. Now follow lazeeboy's RPS settings (Shift+RPS -> PAD1 PTN001,Playback mode:once, PAD2->PTN002, ....., PAD16->PTN16)
17. Save Song
18. Use lazeeboy's RPS ON file
19. Regist your song in live mode, and use it :))

I also attached one of my file as an example.

PS.: Soory my bad english

Hi AmineX,

You have to use the attached RPS on file to turn on your RPS button automatically.

1. unzip RPSSTAt file
2. Copy your B3 emulator's .svq file to RPSSTAT folder
3. Run RPSON file
4. Copy your .svq back to ROLAND\SEQ\SNG folder
5. Ready, use it.... :)

I did as above, but it desn't always work in song mode, while works fine while in patch mode....it's like switching patches through livemode...am i doing something whrong?i want to split ch 1 to play from c4-c9 the patches with their internal effects as sounding in patch mode using RPS ,while i need a bass sound on ch2 to play always from c0-b3.....how can this be done? i also want to transpose +/-oct some patches without affecting the bass.....is there any other way to have a splitted keyboard all the time with a bass on the left hand and switching patches in live mode as usuall?
Thanx in advance for helping!!!!!

Do you want to change the "right hand istrument" or both of them at the same time? Do you use the same bass patch? There will be more complicated, but not impossible. :)
Please send me an example performance which you want to use. I'll make it for you.

here is an attempt, works pretty nice....i guess for more patches,i have in realtime choose by favorite bank or just scrall through patches.what i really need is a bass always at left hand, with a switch on/off for splitting and change the patches at the right hand as usuall through livemode.can this be done?

Hello korg1,

Live Mode song regist:

1, push Shift+Enter
2. Select song place
3. Push F5 (Set Song)
4. Select your song
5.Push F8 (Register)

How can you use Test.SVQ:
1. Select your own patches in performance mode (8-12), pad 13, bass 14
2. SET Up your controllers (sw1,sw2, etc.
3. Save (performance,song)
4. Use RPS On file
5. Use it :)

Pad: 1-12 program change
I’ve programmed “multi-function pad” settings:
1. function: PUSH Pad
2. funcion: PUSH and HOLD PAD
Pad 13: PAD patch ON/OFF
Pad 14: Bass and split ON/OFF
Pad 15: Ovtave -1/0
Pad 16: Octave +1/0

thanx again Tangolio, can you post the procedure about “multi-function pad” settings?how to create on/off using one pad? i guess you record the on function at the start and off function at 1.2.00 sec?

Not at all... :)

You can set 4 functions/pad.
1. at 1.1.00
2. at 1.2.00
3. at 1.3.00
4. at 1.4.00

Then RPS setting (Shift+RPS) you have to use LOOP1 playback mode instead of ONCE.
