My Fantom is full of BUG !

Post by Redrain »

I'm thinking to buy a Kronos..I' have lost one week of work :

My fantom have 1 gb of ram and I use only 8gb USB memory to save my work

1) Very frequently when I save a song it says "memory full" ...impossible ! one minute before it save correctly the songs and I'hve not made modifications....

2) two days ago all my work is erased from my USB key...all song and sound put to INIT state..I have to do a restore from an 1 mounth old backup..

3) Very Very frequently the name of my songs (under song name in song list menu) is set to INIT SONG but the file have the name of the song( under "file" column). when I recall the song the song name change to INIT SONG and became equal to the file name (the correct name of the song)

this also happen in my favorite..I set key F1 to recal a song but sudently the song name up the F1 key change to INIT SONG..then I press F1 and the song is correctly recalled with the correct name...

my Fantom is now becomed not usable for me....the only thing that stop me to buy a Kronos or something else is that I must re program all my song and sound in my new gear (ome year of work)!

Thats why its best to ignore the onboard sequencer and use your computer
unfortunately even if you do start to use the computer.. the fantom will keep drawing you back to use it..
so bee careful bee very careful

I think your "full of bug" Fantom is just suferring from a incompatible problem with your USB drive. All your problems seem to be related to that. I would advise you to get another drive and try again.
We had a thread with compatible USB drives models somewhere. I'll look for it and let you know.

Another strange think I have noticed is the structure of the Project folder on my USB key (Kingston DataTraveler 8gb). there are duplicate folder( 2 SEQ folders, for example, the actual USB key and 4 in the previous key....this is an impossible structure in windows !)

Oh yes I whas started with Nuendo on a Laptop then, for the the instability, I have buyed a Fantom and used the in board sequencer...but now....maybe whas better for me to play rock'n roll... !!!!

Your thumb drive CANNOT be larger than 2 gigs!!! The Fantom is a wonderful" bug free" machine, no DAW necessary!! KT
