Tried holding exit while g8 power up

that's odd, maybe uninstall any DIMMS, ARX , disconnect mouse/USB/MIDI and try again ?

Or wasn't is SHIFT+EXIT while booting ?

Morning - I have a G7 and reported the same problem a few months ago. Below is the link to the responses I got. They worked. Might be the order of operations you are doing to reboot/factory save etc.

Here's my initial posting regarding the freeze. If you copy/paste "G7 has frozen at 70% of initial load" in the advanced search function section in the top right hand corner of this page, the search will take you to all the posts that I received about the freeze. G7 has frozen at 70% of initial load

I had been controlling my Motif XS6 with the G7. After turning off both boards and turning both on again, the G7 "freezes" after loading only 70% of the data (stops at Pad 13 with "Q_who drum - 25" on the LED screen). I have only 1 midi channel from the Motif X6 in use.

Any thoughts as to how to "unfreeze" the G7.

As a note the earlier versions of the OS never had this function. Maybe your OS is old.
