Still having trouble with this...
Hey, i posted a question regarding this a couple of months ago, and i received some answers, but none of them worked. What i'm trying to do is get songs from my Roland Fantom G8 onto my computer in a file format that programs such as iTunes can open (.wav , .mp3, whatever) because i'm sure we all know that the songs are exported in .svq which my computer can't open. i know that in order to have them exported in .wav format, you must resample the song and then export it. there is one problem, you can only resample up to 3 min and 10 seconds, when most of the songs i make are longer than that, and it ends up being cut off. Then after i resample it, what i do is save it as a project to my USB flash drive, plug it into my computer, and open the .wav in iTunes, then i can get it on my ipod. so basically what i'm asking is either A) Is there a way to resample for longer than 3 min and 10 seconds? B) am i doing something wrong? or C) Is there some kind of file converter for .svq?
Re: Still having trouble with this...
If you have a Mac computer, you can use the included GarageBand application to record Fantom-G via USB audio, this will be 100% the same as resampling.
If you want to do it inside the unit, RAM in the Fantom-G is 32 MB stock, which is equal to a little over 3 minutes of stereo sampling time. To be able to record more, you need to get a RAM expansion, which is a PC133 DIMM board, usually 256, 512 MB or 1 GB, depending on your needs.

Thanks! Also, this may sound like a stupid question, but idk i'll ask anyway, this RAM expansion, once i get it, how do i like, install it? cuz looking at the RAM expansion thing, it doesn't look like something that's gonna fit into any kind of plughole....
Re: Still having trouble with this...
You install it by unscrewing a small lid on the bottom of your Fantom-G.

hold on, just to be completely sure, would something like this work?

I know it says for Fantom - S (and i obviously have a fantom G) but the only one i found that said it works with a Fantom G was a 1gb one, and i don't really need that much memory.

looks like the same specs. so it should work. I don't know what brand is it on this but I uses Kingston 1GB. I think the best way is to go for the maximum so you don't have to worry about buying a 512MB later when you start using your recording tracks in the FG which will use up a lot of the memories, if you decide to do multiple vocals and other stuff.
