Autotune
Autotune
There may already be a thread for this but i'll ask again sorry.
What is the simplest way to autotune your vocal recordings using the Fantom G. No I don't want to sound like T-Pain haha. i Just want to be a little more in key.
Thanks for everyones help. This forum is the best

Re: Autotune
Sorry but there is no such feature in the G. Pitch shifter can process any audio, but cannot tune it automatically - and doing so manually would take longer than signing lessons. No pun intended.
Re: Autotune
im not familiar with VP 7 what is this?

Re: Autotune
Wow...that looks pretty cool! Can this be used in recording, or is it primarily for live performances? I'm a songwriter, but I can't sing. Something like this might help.
Re: Autotune
You can record VP-7's output into Fantom-G's audio tracks.
Re: Autotune
Why do you want to use keyboard with Autotune? I'm not saying you can't, but if you just set your Autotune plugin to the correct key it will correct your pitch. If you want to correct pitch while playing keyboard, any MIDI keyboard will work so you can just use Fantom-G as MIDI controller.
I highly recommend this video tutorial:

I literally went thru it in riding to work and then back home on a train, it's actually super easy...

Re: Autotune
i was inquiring about an autotune-like feature that might be in the Fantom, because i don't actually have the auto tune program.
Re: Autotune
Ah ok
Sorry I misunderstood your question

Re: Autotune
no problem. I probably should get that program though.

Re: Autotune
Artemiy, the Mike Acosta from NAMM Video sold me on the VP-7. I saw several others but I think he did the best job in discussing Midi inclusion, re-sampling & other creative playback scenarios using the VP-7

My question is do you think they'll have anything similar (or better) announced next week at http://www.rolandconnect.com/?
I can't imagine they'd one-up themselves that quickly... but then again I haven't been following Roland that long. What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter.
And while we're on the topic - do you think this is best of breed for a standalone module? I saw some other people suggesting the TC-Helicon (seems more rinky dink to me). The VP-7 seems to be a solid piece of equipment but it is on the high end when you compare it up against its peers.
What I'd love to see is a ARX-04 Vocal module come out for the Fantom G series... that would kick ass.

Re: Autotune
Highly doubt they'd release something that'll replace the VP-7... but waiting a week shouldn't hurt.
Re: Autotune
you have to be VERY careful with auto tuners
get it wrong and you can tell instantly
I personally advise people against using them and i guide people away from them in our studio,
also im guessing that by the fact that you want intonation correction that you are wanting to distribute this music,
in which case i would reccomend not using the fantoms sequencer for this
try Reaper, its cheap for indeviduals and a VERY capable sequence, and use the fantom for your sound card,
or buy cubase 5 (not studio) as it has variaudio which will enble you to subtly correct intonation,

Re: Autotune
Best way to get a vocal in tune is to sing it in tune.
If that's difficult to do, then keep re-recording until you get it right.
Or find another singer.
