You need to tell us whether you have installed additional RAM, and how much.

Well , if the kit you're trying to load is 52Mb that explains it all, doesn't it?

No, it does't suck. Not in respect of the issue here anyway.

If you want to use the Fantom-G for working with samples, then you need to install a RAM upgrade. There are instructions on how to do that near the back of the user manual.

It always floors me when Fantom owners spend $$$ on the board but then can't be arsed about getting the memory upgrade ... Maybe Roland should just make it $tandard on future model$ ... but if you want to $ample, it's mandatory ...

Just do it ...

It's not the first time for sure.

I think 'computer' people are more familiar with upgrading RAM so the first thing they do is max it out; needed or not, memory is cheap. Musicians, on the other hand, seem to expect it's already in there and noone reads manuals anymore.

IMO, it would be wasteful for Roland to max the memory in all their boards off the line. There is also no financial motivation. Profit would be limited at best and at the rate prices drop it would be a loosing investment. In a way, this is beneficial to the customer as they will always be able to upgrade for less than the mfg.
sucks in an uploading way

and this means, it's slow?

I don't get it. You wanna fit 52Mb in a 32Mb space and its Fantom's fault?
Wel, you can upgrade it to 1Gb and then blame it for not fitting your 500Gb library.
Do you blame your camera when you want to take just another pic and then you see you can't do it because memory is full?

You Know? . . . I was driving down the road the other day, minding my own business when, all-of-a-sudden, I got a ^%$*# flat tire! "Well, that's it!" I said. "Air sucks!!" Luckily, there was a Baskin Robbins Ice-Cream store near by!

Funny you mention that sRa.
The other day I was pooring just another beer when my wife said : you're full! NO MORE DOES!
I said: Wifes suck!
I wonder why she doesn't talk to me since then.
