After updating my G to the new 1.5 from the USB drive, do I erase the update files from the USB or leave them on it? The instructions really didn't say anything about deleting them but since they are not in a folder will they not update again if I insert the USB drive into the G and then turn it on?
Thanks.

Re: After Updating 1.50
You mean that you use the same USB stick for storing projects AND updating your Fantom-G?
If so, then I'd recommend that you have one separate USB stick for the updates alone.
Apart from this, if you insist on using the same USB stick for all your tasks, then deleting the .bin files from the USB sticks root folder, will ensure you don't update each and every time you boot your Fantom-G with this USB stick attached to it. If you leave the .bin files there, then every time you boot your Fantom-G with the USB stick on, the updater will run again.

Re: After Updating 1.50
I thought that would be the case. I am off to get another USB as you suggested for just updates. Much better approach instead of using the same one that I use for my projects.
Thanks so much.
Thanks so much.
Re: After Updating 1.50
After updating, I leave .bin file on the stick, I create a folder and move the files to get them out of the root directory.
Re: After Updating 1.50
atlas I think that idea is TONS smarter... rather than just having a $20 usb stick with a file that's smaller than 40mb on it.
PJ I wish I had your money!!!! (the type of money you have... you seem to be able to just go and get any and everything you want as soon as you want it.).... (be sure to hit me up when you decide to start selling gear and just getting rid of stuff...I'm sure you've got lots of goodies!!!!)

Re: After Updating 1.50
I keep a folder on my Mac's desktop called "INSTALLERS". Every plugin, driver, softsynth, or OS update for other hardware goes in there.
Re: After Updating 1.50
I like the idea of moving the files under a folder either on the current USB stick or on the Desktop. You are right Apex, I do have a tendency to go get things. Remember I am older person and have worked many many years so I have a bit of advantage I guess in that respect. However; I have lost a lot money by purchasing something, trying it, selling it, purchasing something else. That cycle has cost me a lot of money. I am trying to be wiser about buying gear. Anyways, sorry for the rambling but you have been a great resource and I appreciate it.
Re: After Updating 1.50
yes you can delete it, keeping it on the drive may cause you to update again.
you dont need it.
