hi im having a big problem.. i have a fantom x and i am trying to get it to work with logic. so far i created a new multi.. clicked on all the channels.. the fantom is in performance mode/mixer And so far bank 1 works perfectly 0-127 no probs besides i dont have the patch names.. but when i switch to bank 1-7 i get nothing.. only the same as bank 0. so then i researched this.. countless ours of reading in the logic handbook and searching online. I managed to get to the menu where the patch list is located.. then i selected more banks and initialized them .. ok cool but still nothing works. except the first bank. I searched for pre made logic multi's but no luck.. can anyone help me on how to fix the banks?
thanks a lot

still no luck
well i know what my problem is... from my research this far i have to click on options-define custom bank messages.
ok in here i have to do some magic but how do i find out what my numbers are for my banks? i tried to follow the logic manual and set up a monitor in the environment which then let me see the midi messages. then the book told me to scroll thru the banks on the fantom X. and then write the numbers down and input them in the "define custom bank window" but which numbers???? i see like 4 or soemthing and then im suppose to insert them in the VAL right? can someone please help me on this issue? i think if i can figure out how to program LSB and MSB in logic then i can basically start making my own environments.. Which will be posted immiediatly in teh downloads section
so that others don't have to go through the same misery i went through!
any suggestions of how to achieve this?

Re: logic multi instrument with fantom X help please
There should be a part of one of the booklets that you got with the Fantom-X that includes the MIDI implementation information for the Fantom-X. It should tell you in there somewhere what the MSB/LSB codes are for each of the banks (or perhaps it will be located in the booklet that includes all of the patch lists...come to think of it, I believe that's where it was for the Fantom-S).
It sounds like you still need to define the MSB/LSBs for each of your other banks in the Custom Bank Command page. Once you do that, you can enter the patch names for the other banks and it should all work smoothly.
If it would be helpful, you might download the LSO with a multi for the Fantom-S88 (see the "Support" section on the home page of this site) and look it over. It may show you what you need to do. I can guarantee that the S88 multi works fine, as I use it.
Cheers,
RW

Re: logic multi instrument with fantom X help please
You have to go to the environment "options" tab and define a customized bank message for each bank.
The format is
Bank 0(a) Control 0 87 Bank MSB
Bank 0(a) Control 32 64 Bank LSB
Bank 1(a) Control 0 87 Bank MSB
Bank 1(a) Control 32 65 Bank LSB
and so on for the 5 rom banks
Then
Bank 0(a) Control 0 87 Bank MSB
Bank 0(a) Control 32 0 Bank LSB
Bank 0(a) Control 0 87 Bank MSB
Bank 0(a) Control 32 1 Bank LSB
For the User Banks
Then
Bank 0(a) Control 0 121 Bank MSB
Bank 0(a) Control 32 0 Bank LSB
Bank 0(a) Control 0 121 Bank MSB
Bank 0(a) Control 32 1 Bank LSB
For the GM banks
