Speakers
Speakers
I want to replace my junk speakers with some goods ones. I don't know whether a keyboard amplifier, powered Roland "cubes", or studio monitors are better to produce the most realistic sound. I prefer a bright sound. Any suggestions on what might be the right direction to go?
Re: Speakers
Definitely Monitors , i recommend ESI nEar 8 , large amount of high freq and very decent lows , and costs only 300 euro . they are EXCELLENT !
Re: Speakers
bi-amped monitors are the way to go. that said, i run both HS80M's and HS50M's in my music room. both from yamihamiland
Re: Speakers
Assuming you use your FG at home then powered studio monitor speakers will be the best choice.. the more you spend, the more accurate they will be..
Although you prefer a "bright" sound" Do not intentionally buy speakers with coloration or uneven tonal and frequencey response.... bright sounding speakers are harsh and tiring on the ears and it is far better to have a truthful reproduction from your speakers and use eq to change the response as necessary.

Re: Speakers
Almost any monitor will be better than 'junk' speakers. So maybe a first consideration is budget, but after that it may be most to do with what further aspirations you have.
Re: Speakers
Thanks for the feedback. And yes you are right, I don't want a "harsh" sound. But right now it sounds like I'm playing a piano with a pillow laying on top of the strings
Re: Speakers
I bought a set of Rokit 8 ---------------Love them !!
Re: Speakers
Have a pair of Edirol MA 15D speakers and love them. Cheap, small with both digital and analog inputs but a decent sound.
Not for super loud but great for home studio monitoring.
