Pitch Ben Dover could be understood as "Bitch Bend Over". Is this an accident? Probably not. Especially since the pitch bend has nothing to do with the sound. I believe it is an orchestral patch.

Firstlovedan, the pitch bend is the main part of that sound. I'm playing it right now.. and looks like it could become a song.. thanks to you.

Althou I think you are right, Pitch Ben Dover is probably tongue in mouth. But where do we draw the line? If we have a young lady turn red when they find the 'Just Strings' patch, what do we do?

How about 097 Huge ANALogue? Or the corpophilic reference to the word 'scat' I was unfortunate to learn about just a moment ago while discussing this subject with my collague... :/... 155 Jazz Scat.. ewww

I understand the problem, but I do not see a solution in censoring/changing the name of one patch.

Wow what a response! I wrote that at the risk of laughter, but trying to explain this to a 13 year old girl's parents is not a fun chore. Even trying to explain the harmless humor in it is less fun. I am not a cesorship guy, I am not against artistic expression, and I am certainly not against sex, BUT, just because sex is one of the greatest gifts God has given, doesn't mean it is to be displayed to the public, especially to kids, and disrepectfully as well. So this is my opinion. I'm sure the moderator of this forum would delete inappropriate words or discussions. As funny as it is, Roland really should not have let this go. Hope you guys still love me! And please no more Linda Lovelace jokes!

I'm reminded of UK comedy program "Spitting Image" that did a sketch of Mary Whitehouse repeatedly watching a sex scene to check (as she said) "just how offensive it really is" :o)

Funny, how it's always the morally erect (I choose my words carefully) who seem most aware of all this stuff. One of my friends is a massive prude and yet, pervesely (I choose my words carefully), knows exactly where to get any kind of pron. Including things I'd never thought about until they made me aware of it.

It's a funny old world...

I say we need a patch called G-Strings. Makes perfect sense on a Fantom G.

Relax, the link is to the Wikipedia entry for G-string. Still contains a picture that might offend (or arouse) some though.

Yeah yeah.. we could go on forever on the topic. But I still think firstlovedan had a point.

Also, I hadn't had any tongue in cheek ideas about the patch names before firstlovedan introduced them and now I see them on every patch.. argh! Evil church... that's just why I do not want any of it in my life.

Please religious people, leave your demons at the church, no need to bring them here.

Bernice and I know 'Ben' and his wife 'Eileen Dover' very well, and get together with them regularily for coffee. (and the occassional game of 'Twister') He is a faithful and valued employee of Roland Japan and, as such, was given the honor of having a patch named after him.

BTW. Strange as it may seem, I also know an older gentleman whose name just happens to be 'Ben Tover'! Over the years, I've encountered many individuals with strange names, but nobody's name was stranger than 'Mr. Mullunderware-Warm', an eccentric neighbor of mine who was always complaining about the 'noise' emanating from my house!! (I have a band!) His first name was 'Arthur'!! No kidding!!

Ben Dover is ancient schoolyard "humor", similar to Seymour Butz, Hugh Jass, Heidi Claire, Harry Pitz, Amanda Hugginkiss, and I. P. Freely. It has nothing to do with any porn star.

Think Bart Simpson crank-dialing Moe's tavern.

Personally, I liked the patch names in Alesis' Ion synth—Several were named after Harmony Central KS&S forum members.
