Dear Tony and i8088,
My post last night was in no way intended to chase anybody off. You have as much a right to post on this forum as I do. I myself have been negative toward other members on this forum in the past and am glad to still be a part of this forum. I know it is hard not to respond when you think that someone is attacking you but I have managed to do it myself in the past and hope that I can do it again in the future. I don’t like it when people get negative about the Fantom-S on this forum but often times these complaints can be justified and it is good to know the Fantom-S weaknesses. I can’t stand it when people get negative about each other on this forum and there really is no need for it. Sure, we might piss each other of occasionally but we are all adults, or are very close to being so, and can get over the mud slinging. I ask that both of you feel free to be a future part of this forum but to leave the attacks to things such as the FS and not each other.

Hey Tony,

From my view, apology accepted. Matter closed. I don't think anyone's asking you to stop posting, and I would hope you wouldn't do so.

Sometimes a troll-ish post gets the ire up. I think we all have been there.

Actually, this forum has been great for avoiding personal attacks. While there's been good discussion with differing viewpoints, people have generally been very respectful. I agree with you that gear is gear, and that, while I may (or may not) prefer different gear than you, that's what makes music so great...it's really the musician, not the gear, that makes the music sing. I've heard guys who rock on Casio toys through guitar amps (probably a total of $200 in equipment) just as much as anyone with a top-dollar board and amp. If someone looks down on guys because they think they are smarter and bought better gear, let 'em. The proof's in the mix.

Anyway, I do hope we can keep troll-ish posts of this board. It's turning into a great site for getting advice and ideas. But that doesn't mean I would want you (or i8088, or anyone else for that matter) to stop posting when you have something to say. Hopefully, though, people will avoid personal attacks on equipment choices, musical styles and tastes, etc.

Cheers,
RW

No problemo. I think you and I were actually typing at the same time, and you just hit that "post" key before I did. :)

My friends and I frequently have debates about music, musicians, chicks, gear, cars, computers,.... Certainly, we disagree, and we frequently we use stabs to have a little fun, and then forget about it.

The Mac/PC debate has been going on a long time, and I'm surprised to see such hostility. I sometimes like to have a little fun debating with my Mac freinds - they just send it right back and laugh. It's all good.

Let's lighten up.

To FBJ,RW,BB et.all,

I agree with you guys and simply meant I'm going to lay low for awhile as far as posting.
At least to cool down.
By no means do I feel you or anybody else is chasing us off.
My take is about the same as most of the views you have expressed.
My wife claims I'm a perpetual drama Queen and that I believe EVERY MAN IS AN ISLAND LOL!
I will shamelessly play the sympathy card a bit and just say I was in the hospital most of the day yesterday as I'm no spring chicken anymore it seems.
Yesterday was not a GOOD DAY to F(apologies in advance for implied word here)with me end of story.
In the words of Arnold,
"I'LL BE BACK".
See I already am posting again.
Can we talk FANTOM -S AGAIN NOW?
Peace,
Tony

I guess the big point here is that my first 2 words were ... no offense. I mean i didnt use any swear words.... all i did was mention my viewpoint on mac computers and all of a sudden im a dick head and having my typos pointed out. Kinda weak defense there tony. I meant nothing by my post.. just poking a bit to get your oppinion on G5. You seemed to take it personally.

Im here not cause i own a fantom-s.... im here to help anyone that has problems or questions about the fantom-s/music programming or technical questions. I have alot of experience with almost all models since i work in the keyboard dept of a large store in montreal, and i have access to almost all models so i can compare and test everything and also all of the new expansions / samples etc..
I would think that it would help many that are here with questions comparing models and having problems. I also have direct communication with Roland and get to see models before their released. We have seminars on roland gear, i saw the MC909 almost 6 months before it was released, let you try it and everything. Same went for the Fantom-S.

Anywayz Peace!

Why the Fantom S

One of the reasons that I picked it was because my JV-90 has been through thick and thin for 10 years and has never skipped a beat!
