Safe products to clean outside of fantom?

Hey there- did a search and haven't turned this one up before- apologies though if it is out there. Basically I have neglected my poor Fantom for a little while and am trying to to clean it up , it's got little bits of gaffer and things on it from attaching stuff during gigs.

Can anyone recommend a safe cleaning fluid or product that isn't going to damage the metal or plastic?

I think it is called Goop Off or Goof Off or something like that- but- I would still be scared to put anything solvent-like on it (you could try boiling water on a rag and just lightly dab it to see if the glue comes off- it might just need some hot water)

eucalyptus oil should work okay to get the sticky stuff off. Other than that just a bit of good old fashioned spit and a clean rag will do the rest.
