Does that mean to be a member of 'the clan', we have to grow top lip facial hair like many of the best dictators in history?

I have another bug for you. I recorded a 4 measure riff. record drums, bass, pad etc. Then I record a lead line with pitchbent notes. finish recording the phrase, press stop, reset and play back the riff and low and behold the lead line is out of tune with the rest of the music.

Once it has played through the riff once and starts again it sounds fine but if I start it from the beginning after pressing reset it plays out of tune.

Anyone had this problem?

BTW I have affectionately named the bug and called it ARSEHOLE as it keeps springing to mind when this keeps happening 8-)

I agree that there are a few bugs in the fantom, and I would love to see every bug fixed. But looking at your list Quinxx, I just think that most of these things are trivial. Also one of the great things about really getting to know your instrument, is knowing it's shortcummings and knowing how to work your way around them to end up with the result you were originally aiming for. With the things on your list, this seems very easy to do.

The main one that bothers me is adding noise to a truncated sample. That is very serious, but I haven't noticed this. Is it all the time for you? I sample a lot from records, so it is possable that I just haven't noticed.

As far as recording extra notes, now that you know it does this, you now know what you need to erase. And skip back recording at a lower volume is odd, but I normalize almost everything I sample anyway. Don't you?

My point is that serious bugs do need to be fixed, but I think for the most part people are very happy with the fantom and are too busy discovering new things that the instrument can do, even after having it for a few years! Why complain about limitations that are easily worked around...

Good luck Quinxx, I appreciate what you are trying to do. One thing I know is that if Roland were to fix these bugs with a new OS, everyone on this site would download it...

Im not sure its a BUG....

It happens when a Pitch bend midi message is Cut off or played from a point other than its beginning.....(Like the mid point)

It happened sometimes on my old XP80 (which I still have)
I used to be able to hit SHIFT + ENTER as a "Panic" command which shuts off all lingering midi messages....

Unfortunatly....the Fantom doesnt have a PANIC function....or at least I havent found it yet.....

I believe if we Delved a little DEEPER into our manuals we would find that a LOT of what we THINK are "Bugs" actually are NOT....

I am NOT taking up for Roland by any means...I STIL feel there are a LOT of things that they could have done better with the Fantom X....but I aim to MASTER my board......Bugs and all.....

Try micro editing a pitchbend event with value 0 into tick 1 of your pattern. You can probably copy the one that is at the end of your pattern ;-)

Slightly off topic here but..............

everytime I look at your profile Don Phil, I have to laugh at your picture on your profile. It reminds me of when I was in deepest peru and and got a dose off a young lady.

Yes the pitch bend problem catches everyone out on the fantom..
when i get this i usual just insert a 0 pitchbend on all channels at the begining of the pattern/song
or if your in a hurry and in the middle of a song playing

enable keyboard switch on all channels and press the pitch bend and release. ;)

not a bug, but my biggest gripe was the lack of thrid party sample support. Roland sold the fantom with having the ability to import Akai and Roland S7* samples. This never materialised.
