15 Minutes ago I entered this thread and THE LAST ENTRY by someone like "D-Keys" (or something like that) and he posted something like "a japaneese speaking friend of him said there will a new worksation fo 3500 - 4000 USD".
Where has this post gone?
ARTEMIO, enlighten us!

Re: New Fantom For NAMM?
Roland deleted my message. A friend of mine who speakes Japanese fluently called Roland's main office in Japan, the Rep. told him that they will release a new Fantom and will cost around $3500-$4000 USD. Why did Roland delete my message ? Is it because there really is a new Fantom ???

"Update update: did a Google search. The offer appears to be 2 of the "demo" SRX boards and then 2 of the "regular" SRX boards of your choice. So not as sweet a deal as originally indicated. Here's some info from Digital Village - a UK firm: "
Sorry friend, I did say in my original post -
"Two of them are the "mini" SRX Jon Lord Organ and Analog cards, but the other 2 are full blown ones"
So, I wasn't misleading anybody.
Having thought about it, I think the guys are right - there won't be a new Fantom...Let's call it a Jupiter 10 shall we!??

How in the world should Roland delete any message here?
This Forum is about Roland gear, but not Roland's, is it???
As for the hype: it leaves me completely cold.
*If* they have something to offer:
In January I will know what they announce(!) and what not.
Then we add some time between announcement and shipping.
Then we add some time for the betatesters (first buyers who are nice enough to do it for us).
Then we have a second look at offer, price and competition.
And then we drink a cup of tea or German beer before falling in hasty decisions
We can as well do the latter already before Namm, can we?
FUN before NAMM
That's my motto for this year...

Seriously, you can't just call Roland and ask them what they have coming - that's really sounds ridiculous! I will never believe they would give any such information even to close friends - they all have signed contracts and non-disclosure agreements which would make Roland able to sue them for a compensation.
So, I simply don't believe this.

The Audacity Works said: "Huh? Press SAVE/LOAD, select "Save Songs + Samples", and press ENTER twice. You can't request a feature if it's already in there."
Huh? What are you talking about? It's all or nothing. You can load EVERY sample from the inserted CF card, or save EVERY sample currently in sample RAM. The current file system has no idea which files belong to which song. This is the most PITA Fantom-X "feature" that's totally NOT "already in there."

If you load a song and press play, the files associated with that song will also play. Therefore, the Fantom knows which samples are supposed to go with which song.
The original request was this:
"All I want is for "songs" to "remember" which audio files "belong" to them in the audio tracks recorder."
Which is exactly what the Fantom does. If it didn't, your songs wouldn't ever play the right audio tracks. If you meant "All I want is for the songs to LOAD ONLY the audio files belonging to them in the audio tracks recorder", then yeah, okay. That's something completely different.
I can only assume the reason the Fantom loads all samples/audio tracks when booting is so one can quickly switch from song to song in a live environment (especially considering songs can be loaded into the Live Setting Play page). Or quickly work on multiple songs in the studio.
It'd be cool if the Fantom's file management were more like the MV-8x00, where multiple songs can be associated with a project, and then those projects' files are loaded. But alas, it does not.

True, and in Japan no less? I can't imagine they'd would ever spill the beans, at least to someone who'd instantly jump onto Fantomized. I smell shenanigans.

Re: New Fantom For NAMM?
The fine thing is that it is completely irrelevant for us if it's true or a little forum test or joke. Nothing changes one way or the other.
And we just have fun before Namm and wait and see how they do their job...

Re: New Fantom For NAMM?
Iknow most of us are sick of this toppic, myself included, so I will not bore anyone with another wish list. I do think this is the time though, and I am very excited! Whatever comes out I will probably try for the first night to tell myself that I don't need this new product, and by morning be resolved in the fact that eventually I must have it so I might as well enjoy the fact that I will own it as soon as possible. I have decided, however that no matter what I will not be getting rid of my FX6. I was one of the sad people who sold my FS6 to get the X and took a major bite. I also have developed an intense fondness for my X and simply would not part with it... Can't wait to see what we have in store... Peace
Re: New Fantom For NAMM?
I currently have 2 X6
so im definitely NOT waiting for a new workstation.
I will be hard to impress with whatever they come out with.
I cant see them releasing anything in the synth workstation area.
the GT is only one tiny step up from the XT and i cant say it inspires when i play the presets. The original V did that.
All i can say is...
What every comes
expect more of the same and nothing New...
Thats the way its been since the V and X have been released.
Why expect change now?

Re: New Fantom For NAMM?
Because something new and improved is needed to compete with the Motif XS, M3, Kurzweil PC3, and the onslaught of people switching to computer based setups.

Re: New Fantom For NAMM?
Sorry JEM. I probably just skimmed your post instead of carefully reading it.
Guys, there is very little possibility that we'll know anything before January 17, 2008, so patience is the word.
In response to a person owning multiple Fantom-Xs, to me that doesn't really figure in, since Roland's new instrument will probably have a whole new ROM set of arguably "superior" samples. What I hope is that it will also have plenty of fat virtual analog voices as well.
