Juno-G vs XP-60, which one would be prefer?

hi there,
i was thinking of getting a Juno-G for myself. then one of my friends told to me get a second hand XP-60 (since its out of production now) rather than the juno-g. i guess i can get a XP-60 from ebay for $600. now i'm confused whether to get a XP-60 or Juno-G.

my music style is mostly rock, pop-rock, blues. and i'm buying this keyboard exclusively for live performance. can someone please enlighten me on this matter as in whether to get a XP-60 or Juno-G. which one would you prefer and why? thanks.

Get the XP-60

1. 4 jv-80 expansion slots

2. since you do pop/rock you probably won't be sampling.

But the juno-g is good too. But for your needs the xp-60 would be better. just my 3 cents.

Get the Juno if you want greater sounds - with new sound engine features, effects and 128 voice polyphony, the XP-60 can't even get close, even though it has a much better keyboard. You can also expand the Juno with about 2000 free and commercial patches.

i had the XP-50 (which is identical except for the display). The sounds on the juno-g are much better, esp. when you are playing live. Better piano, rhodes, brass and organs.

To come close to the juno-g with the xp-60 nowadays you need at least the keyboards of the 70 and vintage synth expansion roms. Together you will pay nearly the price of the juno-g.

i am getting a XP-80 fully expanded for 800 dollars. it has 4 SRJV boards - world, asia, orchestral and hiphop. what do you guys think?? the extra keys really helps in gigging situation. maybe i should exchange the Hiphop card with a "Session SRJV" or "60s-70s SRJV" card. i need VERY GOOD piano tones and organ tones. hows the piano expansion board? are they better than the default XP-80 piano tone?

Why wouldn't you consider buying a second hand Fantom S if you're prepared to spend $600? You can find it on eBay for 600-700 USD. Well, if you *have* to choose between XP and Juno, then definitely XP.

I have two XP-60's that I use in my live rig. Actually, one on stage and the other as a spare. I also have an X6 but being a keyboard player that my band expects me to play to play everything except for guitar, bass, and drums. Oh yeah, and even play some guitar parts. With this in mind, I change patches often and I am expected not to miss a part. Of course, I also use a Motif XS to help me reach my goal. There is one thing on the XP's that the X6 doesn't have. This is the C1 and C2 sliders that I use routinely, more for layered sounds such as piano and strings, etc.

I've yet to become comfortable with the knobs on the X6 to actually use it on a gig. I know that I can use pedals to control the same things as the sliders, but my band refuses to allow me to sit and play. I have two sustain pedals and a switch to scroll through programs. I just wish that the X6 would have kept the traditional sliders. Its just a preference that I would prefer. Other than that I love the board, but have not touched it in quite a while as I don't have the time to play it.

This is just my opinion. Also, my main piano sound is a stock XP-60 piano that I tweaked to my liking and always have a string, brass, organ, or other sounds layered which is controlled with the C1 and/or C2 sliders.
