I want to change the amount of Patch Tone Random Pitch Depth via Sysex and am staring at p. 322 of the manual. It seems like the Offset Address information is the same in every section (i.e., 00 03 is for Random Pitch Depth, but above in Patch TMT 00 03 is for the Booster). I also see on Page 311 that there is a Patch Tone address section (e.g., 00 20 00 and so on). Anyways, I can't put it all together and the manual does not have a SysEx for Dummies section. Can anyone give me a hand? I do a better job working from examples than from long lists of hexadecimal notation.
Thanks!
SysEx for Dummies
I'll be watching this one!!
Hex makes my brain melt.....
Re: SysEx for Dummies
Navigate to Menu / System / Midi and make sure that "Transer Edit Data" is on.
Now, start recording on a blank track and make the changes you want. It is important that you select the setting that you want while recording as this will transmit a sysex.
Stop recording and view the track in micro edit. It should contain your sysex code.

Re: SysEx for Dummies
OK - by doing this and tweaking I can see what the Fantom is transmitting. Spishak - I found it easiest to start with a temporary pattern with some tune playback data already in there and make one tweak per measure (or perhaps one tweak per beat for a slow BPM). I just take some notes about which tweak was done where and then I can put it all back together. No hex required - just the ability to transcribe to a PostIt note. I still have no idea how to relate this back to the manual but that's another story! Thanks.
Re: SysEx for Dummies
Has anyone had any luck figuring out other Sysex messages in the Fantom? I am making an editor template for my Access Virus TI and i want to change parameters like Decay and things that arent in the manual.
any help appreciated!
