Well spotted - I think you're right!

Another thing that just struck me (just call me Sherlock... lol!) - The animated icon at the end of the video - it has 8 segments around the rotating dial. 4 are greyed out. 4 are in colour - or active perhaps?

Makes me think that this is going to come in more than one phase - 8 'engines' or 'essences' of which 4 will form the first release...

This is fun :)

Which means, that they have transfered some of their vintage Roland synths with their specific characteristics into the NEW HOST MECHANISM of the JP-80.

Whatever this "host mechanism" is, but it must be something new!

IMHO, by Host Mechanism Roland should be referring to a VST (or similar) Host System already built inside the JP-80, that is now going to be used at its full potential, importing the Vintage Collection algorithms getting them to run and presenting them properly to the user on the internal Display and/or iPad.

The time will tell...

It has SVD file, so we could import from system, but also there is bin file.

As it's called "Analog Synth Collection" it has nothing to do with the not yet available "Jupiter Legacy Collection"

This one little word is THE weak point of my "detective play", which can bring the whole house of cards down. Maybe we shouldn't trust the Roland marketing folks too much, as we shouldn't expect too much from Roland, in order to avoid a disappointment...

But it's really hard to give up the hope...let's see what other hints we might find... ;)

I am sure that logo will make perfect sense once the collection is released.

Host mechanism can only be the OS as long there is no new hardware added. It doesn't matter if the mechanism is new or means the old "new" JU80 synth engine.

If they say: "The goal of this project is to preserve Roland's rich synthesis history" then it would be redicullous if they just put out a sound collection - that has nothing to do with the "synthesis history". Any old fashioned sample libary has a lot of these sounds already. This can only mean they analized and created algorithm based on the original synth to ensure that they will still be available for new sound creation in the future. They are following what Korg has already put in the Kronos. I'm not a big Korg fan but it seems that the concept with the VA vintage synths is a major selling point and we can only hope for Roland that they will add that concept to the JU-80. It would be great if they would open their OS for 3rd party developer-than this would open a new universe...I remember Oliver Schwarz from Germany developed a sample option in the late 80ies for the D-50 and added new waveforms, added multi timbre and some other things, but you had to open the synth and replace some parts (Marillion used it).

Good points all, but Koko's comment about the Adidas sport trousers had me doubled over in laughter! I'll give the Tibbster his due for his great demo's and all...I guess fashion just isn't his strong suit! And he isn't even German! ;-)

Don't get mad at me Deutschlanders...just having some fun at some of the dubious fashion choices (plaid trousers and plaid jackets) that come over here to work from time to time (and my heritage IS German on both sides of the family!)

As if this is some type of new mechanism and it is a loading screen I haven't seen before .

I'm thinking this is something more than sound sets .
