Cesarsound Rhodes

Post by smith570 »

Does anyone know if it's possible to take Cesarsound's Rhodes samples/patches and place them on the same card I currently have Planet V on? I'd rather have everything all on one card if possible, but I'm foreseeing issues with having different sample files with the same name on the card (for example, two different samples with the name smpl001.wav). Obviously I'll need to change the names, and I'm guessing that changing them will somehow screw up the SVD files ability to find them for the patch. Am I right or is there some way to pull this off?

Hi smith,
I gess this is a way (not tested yet):
-Load all the Planet V (samples / patches) and then load the Rhodes (samples / patches) on Fantom.
-The patches 1 to 9 are the Rhodes. The others will be for Planet V. Do your adjusts as per your taste.
-Now save everything back to the card.

PS: your Fantom should have at least 250MB of free RAM.

I will try to do similar test here.

I guess my concern is that, since you'll have multiple samples with the same name, you won't be able to have both sets on the card at once. You could change the sample file names, but I believe this will make it so the patch can't "find" the actual sample it's looking for.

For example, if I rename your first sample, smpl001.wav, to something else like rhodes1.wav, and leave the Planet V sample that is also named smpl001.wav as is, your patch will play the Planet V sample, not the Rhodes sample. Correct or no?
