SP404 main board gone

Post by bishojo_command »

MY main board went down on my 404 and costs a fortune to fix - way too much for the repair shop to consider worth it. It renders all NON A-B banks and flash card functions useless.

is this a frequent occurrence?

and

is it the same board used on 555?

that would be a real concern for me - as well as great reason to not upgrade.

Bad luck.

I've had a 606 since new (2004), been gigged live hundreds of times. Never an issue. Friends with 404s have had heaps of little problems (freezing in the club etc) but I've not heard of a complete failure like that.

Thanks Vexa for getting back.

just add my vote of support for this wonderful resource of Roland products.

It really shines as a definitive resource for roland users - especially the sp404!!

the lack of response from any authoritive roland representative convinced me I would have to be an absolute moron to lash out further cash to upgrade for an sp555 or any other roland device.

You would be a fool to gig with these fisher price products without a backup.

Congratulations roland - keep up the good work
