patterns in juno-g

Post by krakow »

hi,
I played around with juno-g recently and looks like
you can create patterns as on fantom but you just save is as songs.
When I create let say 4 bars loop I can save it as a song and then copy over and use it. So what the difference from fantom actually?
just that there is no "pattern" name in the menu?

No, what you're talking about is tracks, not patterns. Though, patterns are almost like tracks, but on the Fantom you can assign them to keys or pads and then launch them and arrange in realtime, much like on a groove box.

thanks, I got it. Since I'm not interested in grove box (I have stereo system at home) I think I don't miss that assigning to keys/pads option. It very convenient as is in juno for composing.

Actually, groovebox is not quite what you thought - it's a realtime music making device, see Roland MC series (303, 307, 505, 909, 808).
