Details on the upcoming Planet V update
Details on the upcoming Planet V update
Hello all!
I would like to inform everyone on the Planet V sound library update which is on the way.
I have just finalized the waveform set. There will be 438 samples taking 58 MB, so yes, Planet V will grow two times. Over 30 new multisampled instruments were added, including choir sounds, vocoder sounds, drums and percussion, plus hits and chords, and of course basses, synths, pads as well as raw synthesizer waveforms. The final library will include 950 partial samples taking about 115 MB.
I will now start working under getting all this into the Fantom. Once I am done with creating the mutlis, patches and kits, I will release the update. Perhaps this will happen in a couple weeks - stay tuned!
Artemiy.

AWESOME!!!!!
Re: Details on the upcoming Planet V update
Forgive my ignorance but how does one update the intrument wit the new waveforms? Are you creating an SRX unit, or a CD of samples and associated patches? will it work on the Juno?
Cheers! Scott.
Cheers! Scott.
Re: Details on the upcoming Planet V update
Scott, regarding what Planet V is, it's a set of samples and multisamples which were made using the Roland V-Synth and V-Synth GT synthesizers. Based on these samples, there are patches and rhythm kits. You just place it on your card and re-start the synth, and it gives you new sounds. It's much like an SRX board but needs expanded RAM and flash card (128 MB minimum both). And no, sorry, it doesn't work with the Juno-G, because the Juno-G doesn't support multisamples. For the Juno, I have Planet X and Planet F libraries.
Re: Details on the upcoming Planet V update
Actually, Juno-G does support multi-samples if you use a Rythm Set patch. But I don't think Artemio will be kind enough to program everything twice for Juno-G users out there.
PS: I have an awesome AKAI multi-sampled piano working with mine. It only takes about 5 minutes to load! lol

Re: Details on the upcoming Planet V update
Matias, that's not quite the same thing, unfortunately, it takes about 20-30 more time to create a multisampled instrument through a Rhythm Kit. I'd rather spend my time to earn money and upgrade to X6

Re: Details on the upcoming Planet V update
Agreed. It took me about 3hs programming that funky piano, definitelly not worth it.
Re: Details on the upcoming Planet V update
Aretemio, will there be an upgrade path for those if us who already have Planet V?
