I read the FAQ, but it did not help me get the sound right. The patch sounds a lot duller in Performance than in the original. I have the same MFX setting copied over (Tape delay). I even copied it to two adjacent channels on the Mix board and one sounds duller than the other. What should I be looking at?
It's like there are some "old" settings in the channel or something.
Thanks.
Patch sounds wrong in Performance mode
howdy R38!
Try this...... if you have "x" patch on track 3, press the "effects" button, and make sure the PART field says "3". Below that you'll see A "MFX" field....set this to whatever...we'll say 1....you should see "MFX SRC" AND "REV SRC & CHO SRC" in the same screen. The "SRC" means the source for the particular effect.... So set "MFX 1 SRC" to P3(that's the track of patch "x")...do the same with REV & CHO SRC. Now the chorus, reverb, and fx bank 1 will be set to the "patch mode" fx, chorus, AND reverb settings, so it should sound like it does in patch mode!! hope that helped
P.S. if that doesn't work, try pressing SONG EDIT, then F4(song utility), and clear the song to start from scratch. Then try the above ;-}

Hi Spishak,
Thanks - you were right. It was in the MFX. Thought I was going crazy there for a sec...

Re: Patch sounds wrong in Performance mode
I had the same problem but it was that each track in the Mixer can have the Cutoff set differently (who knew). What I needed to do was to go to the second set of mixer screens. Then, there is a button which shows the default settings of Cutoff and Resonance for each particular patch in that mixer setup.
You can then edit the Cutoff so that it is at +63 (i.e., no cutting off).
