Re: Announcement: New Version 1.50
It's almost like this G is staying current even after 3 years! Nothing comes close with their operating system. If only they would improve the ramping leslie effect! The only thing I miss from my old EX/EX board.
You go Roland!

Re: Announcement: New Version 1.50
Art:
the point is: try to transport a song with all of its elements (phrases / patches / samples / fx-settings / song-settings) from one project to another. Simple and realistic task. Possible? No!
Transporting one or more live-sets from one project to another, with corresponding patches / fx-settings / controller-settings etc. Possible? No!
Unrealistic, quixotic? I don't think so.
I want to transport my live-sets with *all* of its corresponding content to the new fg-connects-project, because I like (and need!) parts out of both worlds. How can I easily "melt" them together, without loosing anything? THAT is the question! Not only copying any patch-data between projects with the librarian (whereas I still have to take care myself and additionaly use Yase if a patch uses multisamples - very complicated! I wonder why Roland's VSynth can do that perfectly *without* a PC and *with* automatic "free-slot-assigning" for the patch-elements - maybe the VSynth- and Fantom software-engineers should go more into communication).
By the way, Cubase SX3 certainly can export a single track with all used elements (samples / events / automation / fx-settings / vst-settings) to another project. The granularity is not the track indeed, it is a sample (or an 'event' to use cubases' speech)
greetings,
tastenmann

Totally agree, Tastenmann!

apex: "when you play the keys only one of those single patches is actually triggered... why is this?"
This is just how they made the Live Set. To hear more instruments simultaneously turn their keyboard switch on, wich is right near the name of the single sound itself. There are Live Modes wich have split instruments and layered ones also in there.

Re: Announcement: New Version 1.50
First, let me say a massive THANKS to Dan and Roland for their continued work on the G. I'm learning all the time and this latest update has started to open my eyes to stuff I hadn't even dreamt of! (And there's some cool stuff in there!!)
Now I have a question, that hopefully isn't stupid!
Since upgrading to 1.50 I've noticed that the part levels only "catch" the level when they pass the existing level value.
Eg. Part 1 is at 100, my slider is at the bottom. If I move my slider physically half way up, the actual level won't move at all. In order to move it it to say, 50, I have to move the slider up past 100 and then move it back down.
I didn't think it was this way before.
Am I right (or losing my mind)? (I didn't see a mention of it in the manual.)
If so, is the change a good thing for everyone else? I'm not sure whether I like it at this point...
Cheers everyone.

bonython, the controller response mode is set in the system settings, you can always change it to behave like you want.
Re: Announcement: New Version 1.50
Thanks Art, you went easy on me too

>I'm surprised there's a Single mode at all. It's largely unnecessary
i think SINGLE mode is just there for those that like programming sounds at the basic level. then apply to where you would really use it, LIVE/STUDIO mode.

I always program patches at that basic level from within Live or Studio mode. The only advantage to Single mode I see is the ability to recall specific reverb and chorus settings.
Re: Announcement: New Version 1.50
i just think your approach is backwards to mine. either way works and i too have programmed patches from while working in LIVE/STUDIO modes.
sometimes i have no tracks or LIVE running and just program sounds and play it by itself. that's about the only time when SINGLE mode is useful.

@ G-man. Thanks for the reply. Someone beat you to it. I know there are some with the layers and splits. I was just wondering why on Earth they would make a live set (from the factory) like that... I did turn on the keyboard switch on for those other instruments (as to have more than one sound coming through at a time), it didn't sound good at all... (well not really at least)

Thank you for the new update
Re: Announcement: New Version 1.50
A simple question. Does the current sounds in my fantom be removed when I upgrade? I am pleased with many of the sounds that I have now (Original sounds), I have not programmed anything or made changes and I'm a bit afraid that they will disappear or be replaced with new ones which I may not like that much.

Hi Audacity,
in SINGLE MODE you can see the fader values (Filter, etc.)and change them.
In LIVE MODE not.
